Nah, you won't get them... the Rangers have fought too far and long to just give them away. Your artillery missed by a scant 50 meters.
The middle is quiet. In the replay I see my last Sherman playing a big role in forcing and dispersing the SS back.
This turn an MG42 team is caught in the open and is destroyed by the M16 Quad50 HT.
The 105s give hell to the hazy and cratered land in front of the hills in the middle. Any SS that remain will surely think twice before moving forward again.
(It's a good thing the crew of that StuG abandoned their vehicle... I got scared there for a while...)
I know now why the SS morale sux in late war periods: Because the SS at this time are recruited from all over- so there are Norwegian SS, Danish SS, French SS, Finnish SS etc.
Anyways, your Turn

I will but I have no ammunition left, literally!
My M16 Quad 50 finalls has 0 on its HE list....
My Sherman has around a dozen shots left...
Anyways, that M16 has !15! kills!!! 2-3 from armored cars and the rest from infantry squad and teams, what a killer!
Nothing much happens this turn, a lot of your artillery pounds my rangers in the south, my tank is moving down to assist. The M16 is also moving down. They will fight the Germans with small arms if they have to.
Your turn

BTW, this is the last turn righT?
I think you'll get a minor victory from this one, if not a draw, let's have a rematch

I really wish you would turn off fast artillery.
Anyway I continue my march south.

Due to VERY popular demand, fast arty is now off...

sorry for the delay.
Anyways, a rifle squad and a SS squad is destroyed in the middle. Heavy artillery falls on what remains of my Ranger platoons. The VHes are still mine. Man, so many dead Germans! SS too!
Your last turn (I think)

It's a draw! Lol thats not suprising considering we pretty much wipped each other out lol.
Germany US
13764 9387
Losses
Men 719 525
Art 1 2
S Veh 2 0
APC 0 10
AFV 42 56
In retrospect here are my thoughts. Your initial massive drive to the center cost you. However it cost me just as much to over-run those positions. If I hadn't brought so much inf I never would have stood a chance as your tanks where ripping mine apart.
Your tactic was sound and if I had been a bit more AFV heavy I think you would have crushed me.
I learned alot about how to deal with tanks this battle and found out how nasty US stuff can be to fight against. It was a good battle and I am suprised I did so well, after turn 3 I was thinking I was doomed because you had torn apart 80% of my AFV's.
Also on a side note you could have walked right over the southern hill anytime

I had nothing there that would have stopped the veh's that you had sitting waiting for my charge. Moreso in the last 6 turns of the game I had literaly 4 units there, 2 mortors and 2 4 man inf squads
So of cource now we have to have a rematch

Pick a different slot then 9 thow, how bout slot 11 ?

Whew! What a match! The Americans really blew it this time...
You know what I had left?
I had exactly 1 tank, 2 understrength infantry squads and 1 M16 w/o ammo! That's it! That's exactly what I had left!
3 more turns and maybe, just maybe you could've gotten some hexes.
Looking back at the battle, I would've taken less AFVs and more infantry & M16 Quad .50s
AND
left some protection on my home VHes AND take less rockets and more tube artillery.
Sure, slot 11 sounds fine, it's your turn to create the battle. You choose the armies, the date and the rules. Hey, did you notice that fast artillery is now OFF?

Why yes , yes I did thank you!
If I had had more time I would have wipped you out completly

, I still had about 10 understregth squads of inf (2 where special ops) , a PzIV, and a few HMG's, a couple snipers and my full complement of morter teams.
On top of that I had the following sitting imobalized : 1 AC, 1 Panther, 1 PzIV, 1 flametruck. The miserable AC got imobalized on the first turn crossing an open field and never managed to change the tire I guess
I will think up something and start a thread in the AAR forum when I have it ready.

Right on, I would like to play the Russians this time even if it means playing them around 1941 (Start of Barbarossa)
