The Kessel is dissolved. The Soviets finally decided to stop sitting there and being pounded.
Other units are trying to move forward but the German defensive line isn't moving back much.
Good Hunting.

Another Kessel is forming in the middle of the village. As any of the Soviet forces move forward they are taken under fire from multiple sides.
Good Hunting.

Being able to pause makes a huge difference in being able to take screen shots.
Following are the combats that took place in a single turn. A turn where the attack is beginning to wind down.
Good Hunting.

They don't decide to retreat fast enough and they are destroyed as a combat effective unit.

All that combat in a single turn has effected the overall condition very little.

When I started this game it showed the scenario was 24 turns long.
By my count I've gone 36 turns now without the game trying to end the fighting.
Good Hunting.

As expected the battle was a Draw.
The Germans will take that. No Soviet advance here. These units will not be advancing into West Germany anytime soon. But we will be needing to pull back and reorganize ourselves.
Good Hunting.

The turn thing is a bit of a bug that no one has really picked up on before. The scenario is set for an amount of time and I think the turns are looked at as 30 minutes. So if you use a shorter turn cycle like 15 minutes the number of turns is really double that amount. I'll have to check with Rob and see if we can fix that.
Beyond that, a great AAR! FOr a good full fog of war game, turn off the Automatically Spot Enemies for NATO. All of those lovely red counters will vanish until spotted or found via radio traffic.
Thanks for sharing!! [8D]

I used that FOW setting so that everyone could see what was happening. The next AAR I do will be full fog of war to show the difference.
As far as the number of turns I reduced reporting time so I could take more screen shots. Now that I know how to pause the game to process those I take I'll leave it at 30 minutes as well and that won't be an issue any longer.
Glad you liked the results of the AAR.
Good Hunting.
