Now I see some movement and follow up to the Don, and across it just north of Stalingrad. Novosibirsk has fallen, but the Caucasus army can move - it starts moving northwards just off the bottom of this picture.

Soviet armies pour into the vacuum created by the Axis retreat - coming south from Voronezh and from Stalingrad

Carlos's T74....
The Italian CSIR is in a tight spot...[:(]
One of the big differences of EF+TOAW vs Matrix's GWITE is that retreats a lot more costly in EF. With insight Carlos could have tried to hold the line of the Don with the units retreating from the Caucasus.
Leaving fortified positions is always painful...

And my turn 74 marks the official end of this episode of Case Blue - both sides prepare for the next phase of this titanic struggle - the Soviets need to repair rail lines, supply in the Caucasus is still abysmal and the armies from there will be quiet for many turns until rebuilt. And so attention turns elsewhere for some time.
Hope you all enjoyed it.....this last turn happened the beginning of June and we are now at T169, with the Soviets knocking on the doors of the Reichstag - it proved difficult to stem the tide!!
