Here's the results of an attack on an NVA regiment. At least we got all the rockets it had in it's golf bag.

Larry, I have been following your post with interest. I do not own TOAW III yet but hope to soon. Your Vietnam campaign gives me some idea of what this game can do. Truthfully, I hope to see it on one of the weekly discount sales so it will motivate me to buy it. Keep up your post as I have been enjoying them.

Send me your address ( you can reach me at fulkersonlarry60(at)gmail(dot)com ) and I'll send you enough money to buy TOAW III.
It's that good.

I'll try to keep that in mind as I post stuff to the AAR. I had no idea of what kind of interest there would be in this AAR since it's
so different from the other AAR's. Most AAR's have "front lines" and units from both sides are present and there's a "goal" to achieve
and so far the only goal has been to keep the NVA / VC from appearing on the map.

I wasn't aware that there was a weekly discount sales going on. Good, that's a good thing.

Well alright then. I will. I'm glad somebody is getting something out of all this AAR hard work. Actually it's not all that hard.

It's a new turn and the NVA / VC have moved and there's one VC unit that has dreams of winning the game by capturing Saigon by
itself. I'm going to surround him w/ some lessor units and kill him w/ an adjacent ARVN Marine Regiment. And an air strike for good
measure.

There's an NVA HQ unit out wandering in the jungle near Ban Me Thout and I have the ARVN 23rd Division that isn't doing anything at
the moment. I'll move some of it's regiments to the river and wait for the NVA to come to me. There's probably a whole division lurking
out there maybe still in Cambodia but headed this way probably.

We've detected an NVA mechanized regiment still in North Vietnam but threatening the DMZ area. I have a TF offshore that can
bombard and I'm going to run an air strike and then on the ground I'm going to move some more blockers up to the DMZ and then
move in some arty to support them and make a whole production out of this thing. Where there's one regiment there's probably another.

And here's the rest of the activity for the turn. The 1st VC regiment and some elements of the 271st NVA division. I'm going to back off
the arty from the NVA units back onto the road and provide some ground security for them and then use the Marine regiment as bait to
get the NVA to attack them while my airplanes do CS and save the day. You'll see it'll work. Meanwhile I'm going to gather up some
Marine regiments on the 1st VC regiment and do battle w/ it where it stands.

I was moving the 7th Engineer Bn north toward the DMZ and I came across some NVA arty. I'm going to have to rethink my tactics now.
It's important to defeat the arty first before the mechanized unit is delt with because the arty can support the mech unit. D'oh. I'm going
to use the TF and some airborne assets to bombard the arty so it will be neutralized first.

Okie dokie........I've moved some more blockers into their positions.......now I'll use the Marine unit to RBC the NVA arty. At least that's
the plan.

After I moved that tired Marine arty onto the road I decided they needed some ground security so I was moving the 3rd / 1st Marines by
helicopter and the helicopter evidently flew over the top of an NVA regiment because an NVA regiment appeared on the map. So I'm
going to move the 3rd / 5th Marines in to block that guy and I'm going to use the 2nd / 5th Marines as bait to get the bad guys to
attack me so my airpower can tear them apart.

Here's the Saigon area and I've moved some blockers in and now I'm ready to use the 147th Marine Regiment to try to RBC that VC
unit.

All this time I've been thinking Troop D of the 1st Cav was some Hvy helicopters to move infantry around but nooooooooo......it turns out
that it's got recon choppers and some Cobras. So I'm going to use Troop D as the combat support element. Somebody else will have
to move them around.

Now that the carriers are "active" I've assigned one of them to Yankie Station up north. Close enough to influence the North Vietnam
area.

I remember a Yankie station and a Dixie station but I don't remember if there was a station in the "middle". I'm naming this next station
Kansas because it's in the middle.

All those squadrons that turn yellow go to "rest" missions and these aircraft have only flown one air strike round so far and already
there's four squadrons that are in reorg. I'd like to have a lot of combat supporters for the upcoming turns so I'm going to end the turn
here.

I hit the end turn button and the NLF got a chance to move and move they did. They came across the DMZ and only because of the
combat support of the aircraft that came to the rescue did the ARVN regiment not have any losses. They stood their ground and fought
back. I'm proud of them. Most ARVN units would have retreated. I'm guessing.

And now that it's the Allied turn the NVA have melted into the countryside and I've got to get some recon assets into there to find them
so I can attack them. There's at least two NVA regiments somewhere south of the DMZ and they are a big threat.
