But what if you had fought a spectacular campaign for three years, would you still feel that you should be running out of everything in Spring 45? I think the game needs to have some reward for saving supply and/or fighting well.
If you want the 'end of war' experience, play the downfall scenario.
Actually, yes because if that were not the case then my opponent had probably done a poor job. Let's face it Japan could not have won as long as the US did not get "war weary", or make massive mistakes. Even if Midway wasn't the turning point there would have been another.

This may be a bit off base if not doable. But what about you cant repair any MAJOR damage the turn after the ship enters the yard manually so any accumulated repair points will only go to minor damage on the turn after being switched. Or some how if their is any accumulated repair points when a ship is switched in the next repair will be a minor regardless of the time it takes. I also think any fix would only likely need to address capital ships as they are the only ones folks might spend the extra time doing this except perhaps for the 2 queens.
But I also think resetting the accumulated repair points when manually switching in a capital ship would work very well. Could even put a note at the bottom of the repair screen.
Personally I try to repair all minor damage pier side and I don't move ships to the ship yard until all minor damage is repaired except for special circumstances.

Another option might just be to just use the same entry delay as exit delay for capital ships and any accumulated repairs would be at the pier side rate and only minor damage can be repaired. In essence the ship would be locked into pier side repair rate as the crew/port staff continues their work while the dry dock sets up the ship for more extensive repairs.
