Did an Echo this morning which is a ultra-sound of heart. The doctor from the hospital told me I was going home tomorrow morning. Both Cardio docs came in at 5pm "ish" and sent my home. Just got in and will take shower before relaxing. Hope to get a solid nights sleep with out all the monitoring going on. Going to take some FMLA time off over the next few weeks, but am not going to push self back to work.

There is nothing worse than trying to sleep with doctors and nurses poking you at all hours of the night.[:@]

Isn't it is great to be back home? I spent 8 days in the hospital after my surgery back in February and am just now almost being able to do things for myself. If it weren't for my wife I would've been up the proverbial creek. Now concentrate on making yourself better and take things one day at a time.

On the football front I'm sorry to mention that a certain defensive back that the team was counting on has been caught doing the drugs again and a suspension is in the offing.

Good to see you feeling better Micheal. Get even better soon. Chest pain will scare the daylight out of anyone. When I had mine it frightened me into diet changes even though the cardiac catheterization and additional tests showed the arteries and heart clean.

Just read about this, glad your home and resting.

5 Stars on being smart enough to get checked out and not trying to be a "tough guy", as a former EMT I can't count the number of grieving wives who said he thought it was only indigestion...

Get better and happy gaming! [:)]

So, General, how often do you try to sleep with doctors and nurses, and what are they poking you with? This sounds like the plot for a certain sort of movie.

Yes, I'm pretty sure you meant that, but it even took me a second look before I got it.

I am a type 2 diabetic {caused by an MD whose IQ squared is still single digits}. Food has a lot to do with blood glucose levels. I spent three weeks in China without taking any medicine and my BG was never above 110. Better food was one thing, but all the walking I did was the big contributor. And I've had patients that went into hypoglycemia after beginning a workout regimen without reducing their medication dose.

It's always good to get home. Sleeping in your own bed. No needles or nurses waking you up at 0400 so that the Doc coming in at 0700 has the lab results waiting for him {he has a 1300 tee time at the local golf course}.

I've been out of the hospital for several years now and I STILL have a nurse waking me up at ungodly hours.....wives!![:D]

Just read this and glad to hear you are out and recovering. Although I've only been in a hospital for 36 hours for appendicitis, I feel your pain regarding nurses and docs waking you up at all hours. To me lack of sleep at hospitals is a serious issue as it can delay or, God forbid, prevent recovery.

Cheers,
CC

Off to see both Primary Care and Cardio docs now. Need to get FMLA paperwork done and sent to HR afterwards. Fingers crossed. [;)]

Modern medicine - I'm back to work on Monday after two weeks off for heart attack and three stents. I had hoped for more, but Cardio doc says there is no medical reason for more. However, I have to see him again on June 3rd and schedule another overnight in hospital for a fourth stent. I think he told me about this before, but I don't remember it. [:(]
