My wife and I are driving to Massachusetts friday night and we have limited space because we are packing the rest of our stuff in the car and shipping what will not fit. Well i'm trying to find a way to stuff my laptop in the car without pissing of the wife. I know a laptop doesn't take up a lot of space, but you guys know how the wife's can be....GP

Oh yeah. Before our trip to China she said "You don't need that thing".

While in China, I was frequently reading a book because she was on the computer.

When you are reading someone's AAR and they mention a destroyer name

and you think, "damn, mine just was gutted by fire and sank in port"
[:@]

or they mention a carrier name
and you have a sad, jealous pang cause yours is at the bottom of the ocean...
[:(]

You also know you are a WITP addict when after so many years... you still like the soundtrack. Especially the background ambient music one with the island drums and electric guitar...

Heh, I loves them all - the space-guitar, the Victory! march, the twangy koto, the Native American flute - if only I could delete the 'falling-bomb whine' from my combat replays.

You know it's bad when you become the resident expert on pacific geography and WW2 ship classes and names. You can no longer remember what happened to a ship historically but can recall everything that happened to the ship over several games. As others have pointed out, seeing or hearing a street name etc and not thinking of a street but what happened to my ship or what I am planning for it's upcoming moves. You hear a Japanese name and your first thought is what ship class is that...

You can just rename or delete the sound file. The files have an SFX extension, but they are a standard sound format. I forget which, I think they are wave files. Just play the sound file one by one until you find the one that annoys you. If you rename the file, it will not play. Rename another sound file to that file name and it will play instead. The sound engine will play any common sound format as long as the file has the right name.

S.S. Lahaina got torped by a sub in my game. My wife asked what was wrong when I let out a mournful wail. I told her.

A couple of months later, she took me to Lahaina.

Yep....I married well too.
