Just purchased Commandos 2 for .59. Not on my top 10 list but for 59 cents... [:)]
I think a cup of coffee would have been better. [:D]
And just where do you get a cup of coffee for .59??

The sales can get to you - and add up. Even the cheap ones.
So Borderlands 2 GOTY is 80% off. I can run it, and 52,000 people say it's great. So I buy it, right? Maybe I'll like it, maybe not.
I promise not to spend another red cent until OoB Pacific and Brother vs Brother come out. Hope they come out quick!

Well I fired it up yesterday to see what it was like. I started the tutorial and couldn't figure out how to work the interface. Also the graphics seem a lot worse than I remember them being for even the original Commandos. Oh well. It was only .59 cents. Maybe I'll actually play it one of these days. [:o]

I guess I should have bought it for $5.99 and gifted it to someone who doesn't mind the hoops EA forces the player to jump through.

This might be the ancients game we've all been looking for guys and gals.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/338810/ and it's FREE to play. So check it out decide for yourselves. I just found it so downloading now. [&o]
EDIT: It appears to be like a CIV game but with units already in place on the map. You have to find and use resources like Age of Empires. It's still kinda fun as it's turn based and not some rts click fest like Rome II.

Humble Bundle weekly deal has Company of Heroes and some Warhammer 40k stuff for just a buck.
If you splurge and spend over $5 and some change you basically get most all of the Company of Heroes games and some more Dawn of War stuff and Space Marines.
Company of Heroes looks as frantic as Close Assault only with larger graphics.
Anyone played it? How would you compare it to Close Assault?

You cant go wrong picking up the Relic bundle. The Warhammer and Company Of Heroes games are really great arcade style rts/rtt games.
You dont need 1000 clicks a minute to have fun with them either as your dealing with fewer units than other rts games so you can micro units more and feel more attached and concentrate more on bringing in the right units for the job ect.
Compare with Close Combat well, CC is more slow paced and tries to go for a more realistic approach modeling moral and leaders to a degree but if you like CC i reckon you will get a kick out of COH they have a lot in common really.
When COH first came out in 2007 i got pretty addicted to it i must admit and even today its great fun to play in skirmish and team up with a buddy against the AI.
I remember it taking me forever to get good enough at the game where i could beat a very hard AI more often than not in skirmish game and the very hard AI kicks my but these days cause i am well out of practice lol.

Sounds like Age of Empires used to do me on the harder levels. Those priests that yoddeled stole most of my troops and catapults before I could get to them.
Rts is more speed than strategy. The best strategist in the world could lose to an Rts AI just because he can't move the units as fast as the AI. It's why it surprises me that the TotaL War's ai isn't very good in the individual battles. Or even Combat Missions real time battle ai isn't any better than the old version ai. Unless you play a "scriped" ai game. The quick battles are not much fun though.
For a buck I guess I can tinker with it though. I already have all those Warhammer games from an earlier sale Steam had awhile back but for a whole lot more of the series.
I'm not much into the 40k Warhammer as I am the fantasy one. Am excited about CA's version but I don't expect the AI to be that great as usual.
Doesn't anyone concentrate on making a killer AI anymore? I hate to think Paradox's EU:Rome gives me the most challenge these days. Oh and Panzer Command: Osfront and I used to think Command Ops but I been thrashing that ai lately.

With all your whining about UN-challenging AI's, why don't you work on a challenging one yourself? [8|] You seem bright enough...
