I don't believe it! All I did was attack Poland and now the CW and the French have declared war on me??

Hitler's gamble fails - the Allies finally draw a line in the sand. The Germans call out the reserves.

France and CW take a naval impulse.

CW port strikes Stettin but since the die roll is a 1 it is a disappointment. [:(]

No naval air.

USSR display their naval might and send Parizhskaya Kommuna to The Black Sea.

France send a raider into The Baltic Sea. France also send a couple of battleships to the North Sea. A TRS, loaded with a INF, and escorted by cruisers sail to cape St. Vincent.

CW send a TRS, loaded with one Indian Corps, from Aden to Alexandria. BEF sail to The North Sea as does the Home Fleet. HMS Malaya, along with lots of cruisers, sail to cape St. Vincent. Plenty of convoy escorts are sent to several different sea areas.

Nimitz (HQI) is sent to Hawaii. US send several submarines out to patrol the Pacific.

France search for the Axis convoy in the Baltic sea but fails to find it (die roll 8).

France bombs Cologne for no effect.

Cape St Vincent? Where's the Frenchy going?

It sailed from Syria and stopped in Cape St Vincent. Where it will go might be revealed in time.

No ground strikes. No rail movement.

USSR occupy Eastern Poland (1 US chit removed). The forward elements of Army Group Timoshenko move in to the Carpathians.

Com China send one unit towards Taiyuan. Nat China move several units southwards.

No land combats.

The Polish air force fly to Rumania and is interned (aircraft destroyed and the pilots placed in the CW reserve pool).

No reorganization.

Weather turns to rain, at least in Poland and China.

The weather scuppers my plans somewhat so all three powers take a combined.

An Italian NAV flies to the Italian Coast
A German NAV flies to the Baltic Sea
A Japanese fleet sails to the Sea of Japan
A second fleet sails for the South China Sea loaded with an HQ, and INF and an ENG.
A small German fleet sail for the Baltic
An Italian sub sails for the Italian Coast

Both searches in the Baltic were successful German (1) vs French (4)

The Germans have 3 surprise points and use 2 to increase their naval combat column which could mean destruction for the French raider....

They then throw a 9 and only damage her.

In return the Karlsruhe is aborted.

Do the French want to stay in the area?

The Japanese land troops in Canton and to the west.
The Germans move limited nos of troops toward Lodz.

A few aircraft rebases for the Japanese (bombers to southern China) and the Germans (fighters - to the west)

CW bomb Hamburg for no effect. Maybe it would help if we actually use bombs next time.

Zhukov (HQA) rail to west Ukraine. China rail a garrison from Changsha to Kweilin.

China captures the cities Taiyuan (Com), Nanchang (Nat) and Kaifeng (Nat).

BEF lands in France.

France reorganize two militia.

The new weather is appallingly nice.

The Japanese declare war on the Soviet Union - no other declarations. The US confused state of mind remains; outraged at the attack on Poland but totally uninterested in the Allies attack on Germany and now the Japanese aggression against Uncle Joe.

- Does Stalin want to call out the reserves?
- I will also try and groundstrike the Chinese unit in the mountains north of Hainan. China can intercept with a 3-quality and the Japanese could counter with 6 points of fighters.
- Same question if not used before I need one bomber to make the odds 3-1 , will the Chinese fighter intercept 3 vs 6?

Yes, The Soviet Union will call out their reserves.
Yes, China will intercept the ground strike.

USSR place the reserves as follows:
The militia in their respective home towns.
The cavalry in Blagovyeshchensk.
The two infantry in Khabarovsk.

The Chinese intercept with their I-16 and the Japanese counter with their two fighters.
