At Kaluga the Panzers are out of steam, at least I hope so.
Near Bryansk 5 rifle divisions ended in pocket and near Vyazma far more units are in danger.

VSS is intensively pounding the fascist hordes. [:D]
2 interesting attacks have happened this turn. In one Panzers close to Leningrad were targeted with "huge" success. Especially when used VVS planes are taken into account.
And then bombing run on Ploesti which did 20+ % damage. Soon will be out of production and I am really curious if it will have any impact on Axis mobile forces.

4.9.1941 - 10.9.1941

Factory evacuation
9 Li-2 from Khimki
Pe-2R from Moscow
36 MiG-3 Moscow (this was maybe wasting of rail capacity)
3 armament points North Moscow

In north Germans have reached Neva and are preparing for crossing. There is not much I can do. The 4CV rifle division may be the difference between success or failure of the defense.

My hesitation to retreat from Velikie Luki bulge resulted in big breakthrough which forced me to abandon it anyway and another 19 divisions lost. At least the Panzers moved north and not east.

Exposed German Panzer division attacked by Bryansk Front to boost Soviet morale.

11.9.1941 - 17.9.1941

Industry evacuated:
5 vehicle points from West Moscow
5 vehicle points from North Moscow
5 Pe-3 from Moscow
10 Pe-2 from West Moscow

German very first attack across Neva succeeded and there is no hope for Leningrad now. I did not expect such quick end here [:(]
I will maybe try to liberate it in winter but I doubt it can be achieved.

In front of Moscow situation is starting to be desperate. Two new pockets with 11(also 1st Guard RD) and 10 divisions in. At least I was able to open one of them. It has not been a certain thing as the weakest Panzer division had 10CV(clear terrain). There was no chance for me to muster 15-20CV in only 2 hexes.

It seems the resting Panzers from previous week are focusing on Kharkov. That's good because there is simply not enough rail capacity to evacuate both, Moscow and Stalino. However I can afford to lost some more arms and HIs.

And we have Ploesti finally out of production. I have a feeling that Dave did not notice it. Should I tell him?

Yeah, there is too much fuel for the Axis in WitE... but once there would be shortages we would run into all kinds of starvation bugs like with supply.

18.9.1941 - 24.9.1941

Factories evacuated:
17 armament points from Stalino (rail cap is low [:(] )
3 LaGG-3 '11 from Taganrog to Tbilisi (I moved this as a historical flavor, the actual Factory 31 has been indeed moved to Tbilisi)

Germans expanded the bridgehead across Neva. So far Leningrad is still in supply, but not for long.

The second pocket has been sealed with 9 rifle divisions in. Other than that no major action in Moscow area. Still 3 clear turns to go.

Kharkov with one division surrounded. More to the south I have ordered retreat and left Zaporozhye undefended.

The amount of fuel

Fuel Stores: 1,156,000
Oil stores:101,000
Fuel in units:83,000
In depots: 8300

I believe that there is so much fuel backed up that it will never be an issue which is the same for WitW.

I believe ( I could be wrong ) that this is by design, because as morvael stated "Yeah, there is too much fuel for the Axis in WitE... but once there would be shortages we would run into all kinds of starvation bugs like with supply. "

I am not sure how much fuel is used per turn, but most of the fuel in units is in infantry units most will have 200% or more of fuel needed.

morveal about how much fuel is used per turn?

so unless something goes very wrong, Moscow is safe for 1941 and you should hold onto the Donets region as well?

but he'll have all the units from Leningrad to redeploy ...

I have to say your industry evacuation plan could use some minor refinement.

You only needed to evac one LI-2. Transport aircraft aren't all that important at this stage and you could afford to let the industry regrow. If you want to supply partisans you can do the same with LBs.
Pe-3 is a fighter bomber and sub par to boot. Either let them die or evacuate one.
10 Pe-2 from Moscow when again you only needed one. It will be a while before the IL-4s and DB-3Bs are in short supply.
36 Mig 3 was probably overkill. You will get more of that type aircraft out before the production run which is good. But at the same time a smaller evacuation would have allowed you to take out other stuff like arms and vehicles.

I share your pain on the one guards rifle division. Dave did exactly the same thing to me.

Reduced blizzard is going to likely keep him close to Moscow, so good luck with that when the time comes.
