Ideal situation is for a game to have:
a) micromanagement for those who like it, but in most user friendly way
b) delegation to competent AI for those who don't like it at all
c) for those between the two extremes to have some tools that allow to manage in broad strokes

Hear you there - im not talking about a system for the player to micromanage - too much room for exploits - just a system that reflects historical channels of supply that forces the player to act under historical limitations - racing a maseriti with a vw bug is fine and dandy if the system allows it but most unlikely in real time.

I designed a game system years ago and spent forever trying to convince David and Gary to develop it. Never could could get em involved. My concept is a running clock that's constant with random filters throughout.

What do you mean by that?
