I usually play the tutorial scenario as a feel for how things are. With this beta build I just got 97% Decisive victory as Nato, without really trying. I'm wondering if the results from the previous released version was actually more realistic?

One thing to watch out for is the fact that the Tutorial is not balanced in any way. It was made to have one of each type of unit to be able to show how to do things in the game. If played right you should clean house as NATO. [;)]

Additional bugs noticed during playtesting:
-Airstrike dialogue no longer occurs in H2H mode. The whoosh and FX appear without counters.
-Tunguskas cause game-crashing range check errors when firing their SAMs at helicopters

I have been playing the new patch for a while. Love it! The new maps are beautiful and cleaner, a very nice improvement. The game for me is running very smooth..no bugs yet...will try larger scenarios. Just been playing the tutorial. One thing is for sure...as a WP player mainly, I will have to re-learn how to play this game. Holy Jesus...I dont even reach a contested battle at the tutorial anymore. Soviets seems more blind than ever and for every blue line, 4 to 5 of my precious T-80s are wiped out, that freaking tornado took 7!...my goodness. Will have to re-think all my tactics...I have just finished another decisive loss..where, where, where is my vodka? (hands shaking)...[:D]

Indeed, it seems that "getting in close" isn't even the grace anymore. Have to be more defensive now and take artillery abuse to the next level. Although the tutorial scenario is not supposed to be balanced. Try a larger scenario such as... perhaps Dawn's First Light.

Test of Wills was hard even in the older versions, I think I will try and tackle that scenario next time I do an AAR.

Thanks for your input Stimpak...will try to be more defensive and rely more on artillery... NATO is now superior in every aspect. You are right, getting close does not equalize things anymore. Reality or not, still lots of fun. It has never been easy to be a bad guy anyway [:D]. Oh but NATO will pay, they will...they can throw me all that sparkling technology stuff, I will find a way to hurt them! Bear fears no one! [:D] Cheers!

Soviet Tanks are still better at very long range. The 9M119 makes the tank.

Stimpak - Can you provide any further detail on what you saw when then Tunguskas tangled with the helicopters? We are having trouble reproducing this here.

Thanks, Rob

It was on an isolated test scenario that is now gone and I've recently wiped my autosaves.
From memory:
Tunguska pair in open plain engaged a pair of AH-1F (Version with I-TOWs) over a mixed hex at far range, causing the game to crash.

Wow, I'll add my voice to those pointing out the radical difference in Soviet casualties! I'm not saying it's wrong at all, but it will definitely mean a change of approach when playing the Soviets.

Otherwise the patch seems good. Very stable and no bugs found here.

Thanks Doug, we think it is playing very well now and we are looking at scenario tweaking to make the 2.0.11 a complete clean, up to date release. [8D]

a small and perhaps a older funny one.

If fprs is running on the second screen (not full screen) a yellow label "You must stay within the setup bounderies." popups then selecting a counter on the game screen (running the setup phase).

I believe Rob has it fixed in the 11.3 beta exe. I will have to check on the screen location issue.

I am on bootcamp and doing the tutorial.

This tutorial was made with 2.06 and its start with a command cycle of 16|17|19 but the beta command cycle is now 13|13|13|14.

This make the described actions different.

Are there plans for updating the tutorial? And perhaps update the pictures also?

It was a real turkey shoot.

Not likely to get updated at this point with time and effort being placed into Southern Storm.

Hey Paolo, I am having trouble opening your file. I think it is because you renamed it as a gif. Try converting it to a zip.

I'm sorry but I can't upload zip file...

Paolo, make the zip file and rename it with a .txt extension for us to download. The graphics extensions are trying to launch a viewer and giving us no way to download.
