Hey Denniss,

I've tried both combinations -- slow down occurs when I deselect Win7 Compatibility. It seems to occur 20-30 mins into gameplay. Notable lag in map scroll and most significantly the cursor and MP path trail.

I just wanted to add that I too was experiencing slow down of the game after 20 minutes or so. I did two things and I no longer have the issue(one of which was suggested in this very thread). I unchecked auto-save option and renamed the video folder. While I don't think auto-save would cause the issue, I'm not jinxing myself at this point as it is running smoothly for me.
