AGS. Pandaemonium has abandoned the Dnepr. Perhaps he can tell us if he always intended to do this or it was after seeing I had a full infantry army primed for the assault. If he had stayed am not at all sure how the river assault would have panned out as he had good defensive values and ample air support. He has inserted 3 cavalry divisions and cut off supplies to some of my armour, though fortunately not wrecked my HQBuildup. I want to get rid of the cavalry so will keep pushing them back until they rout, giving me a few wins and them some losses and casualties.
My HQBuildup corps will advance towards Gomel, flipping the route back to AGC. The second corps from AG2 can follow next turn. I may swap some divisions with PG1 to use more of the Pz divisions in AGC and motorised with AGS.
I needed the troops somewhere else in a few turns & didn't want to get engaged in a static battle that would eventually turn into an Axis win. I didn't have the troops there for a long contest in short.

German Fighter Loses Turn 5
Fighter loses have been outstripping German ability to replace fighters in the field the last 3 turns.

Pandaemonium has large forces including good divisions around Poltava and D'town doing nothing, I guess a lot of Axis players go through there rather than along the coast, so will see what he does with them next turn.
LOLololololololololol. Where did you think all those units that retreated from the River line went to? Not like I can get them where I want them in one turn

On the 2nd turn I could tell you were a "deep thruster" German player. I have played accordingly when I had to units to do so cutting down on this nonsense. Next game I play will enforce a special rule of no deep thrusting of units unless can be daisy chained back to the main line with units of support. But I can just about bet that this is how Tyronec wrecked havoc on previous Soviet players

So the SS unit was cut off the prior turn on Turn 4 even though I knew it had excellent supply. The SS Division then runs to the coast where it once again gets cut off. Being on a beach hex it will get beach supply and yet again have a ton of MP's. Yet another exploit that the Germans can take advantage of which I have explained before in another AAR.

Curious - it is not our old friend Das Reich?

If I remember I believe it is LAH. So far this has been the only deep thrusting since I have 5-6 units deep (when avail) on the rest of the fronts for protection where needed where there are PZ's and Moto.

Not to mention that he now has ALL of the Panzers and Moto at Moscow except for I think 6 of them.

You are correct, it was LAH though rather pointless going for a wander around the Crimea.
Deep thrusting tactics are severely restricted by the '+1' making it easier to rout exposed units so I will not be able to repeat what I was able to do in some other games. No bad thing to have to try and play the game in a slightly different way.

No, not at all. Take every advantage that you can and run with it. You are doing fine

Not much happening this turn so will just show the final positions.
Pandaemonium continues to retreat across the front. There are 6 trapped units to mop up.
The air war calms down from both sides and my fighters rest ready to resume the battle next turn.

AGN. Using Luftwaffe support (free bombing outside fighter range) we advance 40m towards Leningrad and 20m towards the Valdai hills. PG4 is unused and will have full fuel next turn and can threaten the escape from Leningrad if STAVKA defend forwards.
AGC. We advance 60m and make a small pocket, while protecting our infantry advance route next turn.

AGS. PG2 send 1 corps north to link up with AGC, the other pauses for fuel to accumulate ready to cross the dead zone next turn. In the south the advance continues across the Molochna at the estuary. We abandon the Crimea.

Administration.
Set a few fighter groups to auto upgrade so they can switch to 109F-4.
Three corps commanders are upgraded, all are now 6+..
No HQBuildups this turn so a good reserve of AP's.

T7.
AGN. Pandaemonium continues to retreat. 18th Army will hopefully seal off Leningrad this turn. 16th Army and PG4 will push East towards Vyshny Volochek, possibly saving one corps for an HQBuildup next turn. Am going to aim to continue my rail line along this route and then down towards Moscow, it may be too ambitious - we shall see.

AGC. He has broken my small pocket with three soak off attacks and a main one, thanks to the '+1'. Not a problem, his troops are not blocking my supply line so can remake the pocket and keep pushing East at the same time.
The two corps from PG2 are arriving.
AGS. Will push on 30 miles or so, the infantry are still lagging behind.
Air war. He did some damage, 53 for 287 however half my losses are the 109E-3's which are leaving next turn. My fatigue is down so will renew the air offensive in full force.

AGN. 18th Army seal off Leningrad, 16th head East and I leave PG4 to see how other things develop.
AGC. We reseal the pocket and get our 30m advance. There looks to be an opening on his right flank so PG4 get brought down from the north and one corps does an HQBuildup. Have a lot reinforcements arriving now so hope I can some damage next turn. 120 miles to Moscow.

Air war. There are around 1,100 Soviet fighters around Moscow. I down 480 for 30 with fighter sweeps and then try some bombing but there are too many fighters to get through and it costs me 30 JU-88s. Am only getting to do ground bombing out of range of his fighter mass which is frustrating but will persevere with trying to wear him down.
Admin. Finally assign all my SU's. Most infantry corps have 6 artillery. Armour (except PG1) have Stugs, pioneers, infantry or AT. The remaining pioneers are scattered around the infantry divisions in the armies in which they started. AA is with Pz. Corps or the Luftwaffe.

I would have assumed a "One Hex West of Pskow" defence but this does not look like it?
