US – 7th Army
3rd Division & 2nd Armor – Push toward Palermo
82nd Airborne & Rangers – Push along coast on 3rd Divisions southern flank.
1st Division – Push towards Enna and then unto Troina.
45th Division –Pullout of current position and move to Vallelunga and then unto the northern coastal road just east of Palermo.

XIII Corps - Rested most of the troops on the frontlines.
Moving in newly landed reinforcements for 5th and 50th Divisions.
Spec. Serv. Bde – Infiltrating and fighting uplands area.
XXX Corps – Moving to new positions.
Two regiments of 51st Division resting in blocking position for Spec. Serv. Bde attack.

3rd Division & 2nd Armor – Rested
82nd Airborne & Rangers – Push along coast and take Porto Empledocle and town of Agrigento.
1st Division – Push towards Enna and then unto Troina.
45th Division –Moving to new position.

PM – July14, 1943 (T11) Round 2
Start of round 2.
8th Army is facing stiff resistance.
Not all attacks are successful (#1)
Here is an example of an attack which on paper initially looked good (#2)
with an AR of 258 ….success probability of Excellent…..
Results (#3) – 9% losses vs. 6% losses for Axis.
Looks like I led with with my 50mm Mortars…..(#4)
But it really failed because the counter fire from Axis artillery (#5) was deadly
Against my supporting units.

AM – July14, 1943 (T12)
Start of Turn 12.
During Axis turn, they flew numerous air missions. However, the results of several of those air missions did not end well as exhibited by the three loss reports. These missions were all on harbor spots against Naval units which had a strong Air CAP. #2 was also an attack on Patton’s HQ which also had a strong AA presence.

AM – July15, 1943 (T12)
CW – 8th Army
XIII Corps - 5th and 50th Divisions have only advanced about 2.5 km in last 24 hours. Very stiff Axis resistance along the coast.
Spec. Serv. Bde – Making good progress in the upland area.
XXX Corps – 1st Cdn has moved through US position and is now facing Axis units.
231st Bde and 152 RCT/51 ID are both performing containment as the corps moves to the north.
Note: still have a concern about getting sufficient supplies to the troops.

3rd Division & CCA/2nd Armor – Continue push to Palermo.
82nd Airborne & Rangers – In the last 24 hours these units have met token resistance and have advanced appx. 15km.
1st Division & CCB/2nd Armor – Push towards Enna and then unto Troina. These units have advanced appx. 7.5 km.
45th Division – The division will rest for several turns to build back up supplies.
Note: still have a concern about getting sufficient supplies to the troops.

Combat results at end of Axis turn.
Most attacks result in minimal Allied losses.
Several attacks were all out air-on-air battles resulting in high losses or furballs for the Axis air force (red arrows).

Start of Turn 14.
7th Army
XIII Corps – 5th and 50th Divisions making slow progress up the coastal road.
1st Arb & Spec. Serv. Bde – cleaning up remnant Axis units in the upland area.
Then 1st Arb. will support 50th Division and Spec. Bde will move to flank enemies facing the 152 Reg/51 ID.
XXX Corps – Move into new positions.
Main units of 51st Division will join up with 152 Reg/51 ID.
231st Bde will move in support of 1st Cdn Division on its left flank.
1st Cdn Division – Pushing onto Adrano.

CCA & CCB of 2nd Arm. – Join up and push to Palermo
82nd Airborne & Rangers – Push toward Trapani (off map to west) along the coast.
1st Division– Push towards Enna and then unto Troina. Currently on the outskirts of Enna.
45th Division – Pulled Division Back to a higher supply area.
The division will rest for several turns to build back up supplies.
Note: still have a concern about getting sufficient supplies to the troops.

Major Battle : Hermann Goring & Napoli Division vs. 5th and 50th Division
#1 - Axis units located over blown bridge position.
#2 – AR of 346 with Excellent Success Probability
#3 – Resulting in Allies 12% loss and Axis 97% loss
#4 – View of Allied Losses.
#5 – View of Axis Losses. The only unit left was 5 Semonte 75/18 SP guns.
These were destroyed during Axis turn as they tried to pull out of the battle.
