All the explanations I've seen are somewhat unlikely
But I am still allowed to ask you what is your opinion based on what we do know. Even if you believe that every possible bit of data is flawed, you could still make an intelligent argument in some direction, right ?
I'm saying if it is a mystery that we are all mulling over, why not throw in? No need to bring up Titanic. We can dod at in another thread, eh?
For example, why did these hikers have no weapons on them other than hunting knives? Didn't anyone get charged with bringing a gun of some sort? Into the wilderness? Hmmm ...
I'm not saying the data is flawed; I'm saying it is not by itself conclusive. Every explanation that has been suggested requires some degree of speculation. We can choose which cause we feel to be less unlikely. I mentioned the Titanic as an example of a very unlikely event that could have been a similar mystery. If I had to pick one explanation, I would go with the mini-avalanche theory, too.

UPDATE!!
I've come across this one posted in February, 2023:
Researcher is 100% sure this is what happened at Dyatlov Pass

I often consider that in these types of great mysteries, there are possibly two or more factors involved that tend to make finding a reasonable explanation difficult. For example, not just a tree falling, but also a military cover-up. Two unrelated aspects which complicate the thought process of typical explanations.
Viewing the above lead to finding the completed 'An Unknown Compelling Force (2021)' video, which was referenced in this thread back when it was in production.
The truth of Russia’s greatest unsolved mystery, the Dyatlov Pass Incident, is uncovered in this compelling documentary.

Like so many YouTubes, the title for this one is not accurate [the 'truth' is not uncovered]. However, it is an interesting video, well done by the creator, and with some nice cinematography.

This is definitely one of the best theories so far. Thank you for the link.
