With the arrival of the 2nd Armoured Corps it shatters relatively easily.
The 1st Armoured and the Canadians also arrive on the scene. Hopefully with can stabilize the front here.
For the French one elite corps and 4 small corps seem lost.

Axis strategy in this game is very strange.

The Canadian 1st Corp is formed in Egypt and sails for Marseille. Egypt is now all but void of defenses,
but so is Italian Libya. The UK Med fleet also sails for home water, I have a sneaking suspicion we'll
be seeing an invasion of England soon.

The French fleet and allied submarines are left in the Med.

The UK builds a large corps, we need boots on the ground.

The French boost almost their entire southern front with supply trucks.
The entire air force is boosted too, and all Allied aircraft are set to full support.

While the French are about to take some losses, so far the losses
inflicted each turn has been about 50/50 between France and Germany.
Of course Germany is also fighting Belgium and Britain.
Here is the current turn:

Axis strategy in this game is very strange.

I freely admit the move on the Maginot Line took me utterly by surprise.

My question is, where are the German interceptors? Did he extend his panzer's without adequate air cover, or did they fail to make any interceptions of your all-out air attack on one of his spearhead elements?

Allied classified information:
His plan in France is to take Lille Metz Vichy and Lyon and force the fall of France without taking Paris

Be careful Sveint, LiquidSky seems a dangerous enemy!

Sure, he will take down France eventually by capturing all those southern cities. Maybe by the end of August and after losing at least two mobile corps. The allies can drag this out for several more turns.

This doesn't strike me as a terribly good plan. Sea Lion is probably off the table here due to timing alone.

A more conventional attack would have done much better here.

We don't need no Yanks, the French will be in Berlin by 1941!

That may be pure bombast here, but I did do that once for real with one of the weirder SC II mods

Last turn 3 bombers, presumably with some interceptor coverage, bombed the fleet in London. I assume he might have a paratrooper ready in the Netherlands.

In France, one paratrooper is under an air unit, and one is not ready (again, assumptions). I count 3 interceptors covering the French front, against 5 Allied.
The Allied air units are nearly at full strength, slightly tired, in other words we don't have air superiority, but we do have an interceptor advantage.

I can see that happening. My strategy now is to delay and inflict casaulties. Because if France doesn't fall
in the summer of 1940 we've all but won the game.

Turn 24: July 19, 1940

Belgium surrenders.
Further air attacks damage several ships in harbour at London. The RNN DD is sunk.
The French 19th regiment/Algeria is shattered.
Then 2nd Armour takes a terrible pounding and will have to be withdrawn.

The British fleet is moved to Plymouth. It did occupy several bombers for 2 turns, which
means less French units bombed.

The Canadian 1st corps arrives in Marseilles. A French corps is mobilized in Lille.

In central France a massive air battle ensues over the mechanized German spearhead.
Supply and an AT elite crew boost the attackers.

Note how the surrounded elite 9th corps has pushed back an encircling division, thereby
blocking any retreats.

Next the Canadians are brought up for a desperate attack on the German panzer corps.

The assault fails. Still, our lines are holding fairly well.
However the Allied air and armored units are tired and understrength.

Canada builds an HQ unit.

Germans are going to have a difficult time closing the deal in France. Even if they do it, it will be late in the day. Being two mobile corps short is hurting them, and the last one you pounded on is essentially hors de combat.

It has been said of sveint "You have no skills - only exploits".

Must be some fancy french exploits here that I haven't noticed yet [:D]

Turn 25: August 2, 1940

France sees one corps shatter and one surrender as the German offensive continues.
Eric von Manstein is killed in action, I have to say some really bad luck for the Axis.

The situation in France is now highly precarious.

The Allies perform one last air offensive with mixed results.
By now the UK economy is highly strained. Fleet upgrades and repairs are halted,
all aircraft are grounded. The French order no more retreats, defend or die.
