In the Mediterranean the allies makes one more invasion to gain a foothold on Italy proper. Might have been enough to force surrender in real war but not here. And Italy full of garrisons. Still timewise I am ok so will have to figure out a way to proceed.

In the east the Soviets cant really make any progress. I at least use the bad weather to get in contact with the Germans.
Flavisux is playing the attritional defensive style ,I guess something Manstein would have liked, and its worked out fine for him so far. Germany is really strong armywise but not that many units in reserve it looks like so if one can attrition a couple of units things might open up a bit.

Not much going on waiting for spring [:)].

In the east not much going on either. Germanys strength keep on growing. The soviets standing still because I try to replace armies with low experience and the building of a 2nd airforce.

Nothing to report. Spring is still pretty far away but a lot of things will be decided in the spring summer but right now absolutely nothing goes on.

In the Mediterranean I manage to grab a couple of hexes more in Italy otherwise mostly buildup for the summer.

And in the east nothing going on just a buildup for the summer. The German army is a beast so will be difficult but it is time to start to try and attrition them down a bit.

Flaviusx took a very defensive measure and retreated from most French atlantic ports so I landed and paradropped where I could and invaded France.

Defense will be set up on the Seine river looks like.

Fighting still going on in southern Italy.

Flaviusx surprises me again with a big withdrawal in the east. I will get 15 production and 5 manpower so thats good. Red Army follows as fast as it can.

And a cautious advance into France.

Managed to shatter 2 corps one para in Italy and one inf in Russia but units attacking lost a lot of their effiency so wont be easy to repeat that every turn [:)].

In the east German keeps retreating I follow. At least I manage to shatter like one corps per turn. It is a start at least.

In the west advance further into France. Not sure why I am given so much room my army is most likely at lot weaker than Germanys with worse supply.

And in the Mediterranean I launch an invasion to try and knock out Italy. And it is a failure [:@]. 2 things I failed bacause of upgrade to 1.08 if armour units still had 4 op I would have taken it. I moan now but I like the change it was too easy to invade before think we are in a good spot now. I got an retreat on the 2nd round of attack but had no ops left to occupy the city. In England I had 4 para corps in Italy 0. I had a corps in Africa earlier but moved it back to the UK so had none in position. Incredibly annoying [:)] and potentially very costly. I might get one more attempt at getting the city but if it fails it will cost me 1 mech and 2 arm corps but even worse ofc Italy still in the game earning VPs.

If I had knocked out Italy I dont think Germany could hold on for 2 more years. This game will get very exciting in the end [:)].

I am given Paris for free. Charles de Gaulle happy.

Rain in the Mediterranen. So 1 turn for the Axis to cement the defense. Doesnt look good for the men on the beaches.

In the east I focus mostly on the Minsk-Berlin axis it is the shorest route after all.

In the east some German counteratacks. Sovets lose a arm coprs but I also managed to shatter 1 arm and one 1 corps.

In the west also some German attacks. I lost a US arm corps and managed to shatter a mech in return. Still with the arm units now being lost in Italy I am throwing them away like confetti not so good [:)].

In Italy I throw everything I had but came up short one 6-1 and one 4-1 attack and the Pz corps didnt move. Iron crosses for all [:)]. So that will most likely be the doom of a lot of digital soldiers. Now not sure try the same thing again or wait until 44.

What a shock when I opened the turn [:)]. 5 Western Allies corps destroyed or shattered. The devious Flaviusx launched a counterattack in France and Italy. Well done. The thing is in my first game I played vs Tyronec (AAR further down on the AAR page) he launched an invasion of Denmark and Northern Germany. And I managed to fight back (still lost the game though) inflicting a lot of Allied casualties. This taught me that the Germans can really kick Western allied bum if given the chance and I gave the chance to Flaviusx. I advanced too fast against a bigger and better army and paid the price. Air superiority is nice but not all important. Together with the failed invasion of Taranto the Allied losses are huge and I think there are only 3 arm corps between the US and the UK. Well lesson learned. I am not super concerned. German units looks fairly tired too and bad weather is coming (well in 6 turns or so) and I think by summer of 44 Allied army will be rebuilt and stronger whereas Germanys economy cant be all that good. Lost most of France and all of Russia and my Strategic bombing campaign is gearing up 30 German production points now bombed down to 0.
