Poor weather over Germany provides some relief from the constant bombing, and a rare moment for the Germans to catch their breath.

December 1944 - Germany continues to hold much of Italian territory

Dec 1944 - The Allies win a decisive Tank battle near Dusseldorf

Germany is now fighting to keep their Allies in the war as well.

January 1945 - The Soviets descend on the Romanian capital

January 1945 - The German defenders in Rome are besieged

January 1945 - Eastern Front

The Allied leaders meet...

And things are looking grim for Germany

Here is a map of the overall situation in Europe. Both the Soviets and Western Allies have entered German territory and the Western Allies are prepared to drive quickly through Italy into the soft underbelly of Germany. The front is now too vast for Germany to defend proper.

As a reminder Germany will win the war if it extends until Christmas of this year by suing for peace.

Italy is liberated!

Romania betrays Germany and have crossed over to the Allies. Turkey is also preparing for war, just in time to do nothing!

April 1945 - The Soviets continue their invasion of the Balkan nations

April 1945 - Army Group Center is encircled at Warsaw

Late April 1945 - Race to Berlin
