The only thing I can contribute is :
I can't get no satisfaction,
I was born in a cross-fire hurricane
And I howled at my ma in the driving rain
There's something happening here
But what it is ain't exactly clear
Have you ever seen the rain?

Ooh, a storm is threatening
My very life today
If I don't get some shelter
Ooh yeah I'm gonna fade away
War, children
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
War, children
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
...

A U.S. Marine at Da Nang allegedly vandalized the Khue Bac Pagoda by beheading the shrine's golden image of Gautama Buddha. By 8 December 500 Buddhist protesters marched through the streets of Da Nang after Khue Bac's principal monk, Thich Giac Ngo, threatened to disembowel himself to atone for allowing the Buddha to be destroyed. U.S. Ambassador Lodge promised to fully investigate the incident and to compensate the monastery for the damage.

A dozen U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers arrived in Buon Enao to begin the CIDG project. ARVN Special Forces were already in the village building a dispensary and a fence around the village, and training a 30-man self-defense force. The CIA provided rifles and sub-machine guns to the self-defense force. The Buon Enao experiment was a holistic approach to the threat of the insurgency, relying on social and economic programs as well as military measures to create an anti-communist movement among the Montagnard people who traditionally mistrusted Vietnamese of all political persuasions.
The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal was authorized for award to U.S. military personnel serving in South Vietnam from 1 July 1958 and Laos from 19 April 1961.

Good Morning Vietnam!
In this dirty old part of the city
Where the sun refused to shine
People tell me there ain't no use in tryin'
Now my girl, you're so young and pretty
And one thing I know is true
You'll be dead before your time is due, I know
Watch my daddy in bed a-dyin'
Watched his hair been turnin' grey
He's been workin' and slavin' his life away, oh yes I know it
And I've been workin' too, baby (yeah!)
Every night and day (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!)
We gotta get out of this place
If it's the last thing we ever do
We gotta get out of this place
'Cause girl, there's a better life for me and you

H2H/Side A
[Long Nguyen Secret Zone, Binh Duong Province, South Vietnam]: [H2H/SIDE A][HIS][CSL]: After the disaster that befell the ARVN 7th Regiment in the Michelin Plantation on November 27th, 1965, the U.S. 3rd Brigade was sent to their rescue. The 3rd Brigade's mission had changed after intelligence surmised that the VC 271st and 273rd Regiments were still operating in the Long Nguyen Secret Zone, east of the Michelin Plantation. The 1st/16th and 2nd/2nd Battalions of the 3rd Brigade were tasked with clearing the area under the guise of Operation Bloodhound (later changed to Bushmaster II). On December 1st, both battalions conducted an air mobile assault into the Michelin Plantation and began their sweeps to the east. Over the course of the next few days, while expecting to run into the VC Regiments, the two battalions had managed to uncover several camps and caches. A Viet Cong prisoner was captured who revealed that the units were retreating east. On December 5th, while clearing between phase lines Arizona and Colorado, both battalions had begun running into heavier resistance. The 1st/16th uncovered a training center , hospital, mess hall and other supplies, while the 2nd/2nd engaged some Viet Cong in entrenched positions not far from the village of Ap Nha Mat. Artillery support from Fire Support Base Lai Khe and Fire Base Dallas, airstrikes and gunship support helped the two battalions to accomplish the mission. After contact was made, both the Americans and Viet Cong were jockeying for position, attempting to outflank each other before the ensuing mauling. [ALL, NO VV][CSEE, Variable Objectives][1.00]

Good Morning Vietnam!
I see a red door
And I want it painted black
No colors anymore
I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by
Dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head
Until my darkness goes
I see a line of cars
And they're all painted black
With flowers and my love
Both never to come back
I've seen people turn their heads
And quickly look away
Like a newborn baby
It just happens everyday
I look inside myself
And see my heart is black
I see my red door
I must have it painted black
Maybe then, I'll fade away
And not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up
When your whole world is black
No more will my green sea
Go turn a deeper blue
I could not foresee this thing
Happening to you
If I look hard enough
Into the setting sun
My love will laugh with me
Before the morning comes
I see a red door
And I want it painted black
No colors anymore
I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by
Dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head
Until my darkness goes
I wanna see it painted
Painted black
Black as night
Black as coal
I wanna see the sun
Blotted out from the sky
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted
Painted black, yeah
