It's now
T23 round 1 and this is what
Leningrad looks like right now. The Finns fought their way down to the stop line and the Germans are attacking the hex immediately south of the port. It will probably take another couple of turns to take down the city. I have
26.4K HRS's assigned,
599 HRS's on hand, and I've lost
23.4K HRS's so far.

It's still
T23 round 1 and this is what the supply levels are near
Kiev and the state of repaired rails. As you can see the supply levels are great and that helps greatly in the takedown of the Soviet remnants. These Soviet units will be gone in the next few turns.

It's still
T23 round 1 and this is what it looks like to the
SE of
Leningrad right now. I've run into a rather larger group of Soviet units and I'm attempting to surround them so I can destroy them while keeping their damaged equipment from going back to the Soviet pools. I may need more boots on the ground to pull that off. It's not clear that I'm in control of what happens in this
AO. More and more Soviet reinforcements are arriving each turn so I may have bitten off more than I can chew in this
AO.

It's still
T23 round 1 and this is what it looks like to the
SW of
Moscow right now. I'm fighting over river crossings still. The 29th Motorized Division has gotten too far forward and has been ambushed by several Soviet units and needs to fall back or failing that I need to send him some support. I don't have any units close enough to provide much support so I'm guessing I'll have to fall back with that unit.

It's still
T23 round 1 and this is what it looks like to the north of
D-town right now. I have units pushing north from
D-town toward
Kharkov and the Axis units in the image are pushing
SE toward
Kharkov and I expect to own
Kharkov in about
10 more turns or so.

It's still
T23 round 1 and this is what it looks like in the
Crimea right now. I've used 3-dot attacks to force my way through the bottleneck and now I'm spreading out from there. The rails are repaired all the way to the front line so the supply levels are great. There's a Soviet naval unit just offshore near
Feodosia and I've got
5 of my Stuka squadrons scheduled for a naval strike in the first combat round and I expect that will encourage the Soviet naval unit to go away, if it survives the naval strike.

It's now
T24 round 1 and this is what
Leningrad looks like right now. I finally arrived adjacent to the port and now have a chance to attack it seriously. I just moved the 541st Pioneer unit directly north and repaired and bridge there just before I plan to move several divisions into the hex to attack the port with support from the other adjacent hex. I'm going to move a lot of the
HQ units within range of the
Leningrad port to support the attack as well. The attack will occur during the second or third combat phase, depending on how many MP's the attacking units will have when they arrive at their designated hex. I'm looking forward to owning the port so that the Finn units can move south and help clear out the whole area.

It's still
T24 round 1 and this is what it looks like near
Z-town right now. The Hungarians are spreading out into Soviet territory heading primarily east. I'm trying to convert all the roads and rails as I go to help the flow of supply into the operating areas. It's also important that I try to capture all the intact bridges I can so I don't have to spend the time and energy to repair them.
Z-town is proving to be a tough nut to crack. The weather is cooperating in that even though it's getting colder in the morning the skies are relatively clear. I have
25.5K HRS's assigned,
615 HRS's on hand and I've lost
24.6K HRS's so far.

Are you experiencing any crashes with 4.1.0.40 ?
Yes I am. But not nearly as many as with 4.2.0.9
Bummer! Especially as it is different from 4.2.0.9, because that could mean there are different and compounding issues.
I have reverted back to 4.1.0.32 and am having no issues [other than the occasional graphics freeze during long distance movement]. So, maybe in the future you could try 4.1.0.32 to see how it acts for you, although it may not be publicly available.

It's now
T25 round 1 and this is what it looks like west of
Z-town right now. I'm guessing that most of the Soviet units in this
AO retreated to the east of
Stalino because there doesn't seen to be many Soviet units present here. Which is just as well because it's not all that difficult to surround them and destroy them since there's only a few units at a time to deal with. The supply level gets down to
8 at the tip of the spear which is just about enough to keep going east.

I'll give it a try and see how it performs. I do believe I have a copy of it. I have a copy of all of them I do believe.

It's now
T25 round 2 and I finally captured
Leningrad and the
541st Pioneer unit just now repaired the broken bridge in that hex. Now the Finn units can stream south and assist in clearing out the peninsula. I have no idea how long it'll take to clear out the peninsula but I'm guessing about
5 turns or so.

It's still
T25 round 2 and I'm pushing south toward the
Sevastopol port. The rails are repaired all the way to the front lines so the supply levels are great. I've run into a light screen and I'm hope-ing to be able to brush it asside and get into the surburbs of the city. I have until 04Dec41 to take down the port to release the Bulgarians from garrison mode. It's only mid-September right now so there may be time enough to do that.

It's now
T26 round 2 and I'm pushing for the
Donets River and I'm about to capture
Stalino. I have
23.3K HRS's assigned,
1099 HRS's on hand, and I've lost
27.8K HRS's so far. I'm thinking I may have to slow down the operational tempo to save my units current strength so they will be strong enough to withstand the
Soviet Winter Offensive which will occur in about
20 turns or so.

It's now
T26 round 4 and this is what the
Moscow area looks like right now. I blew a hole in the Soviet lines and I've pushed out some few units into the hole and I'm pretty sure Elmer is going to move some units down there to plug the hole But I've already started rolling up the Soviet lines going from the south end to the north end. I expect Elmer will try to thwart my efforts pretty soon now.

T28 round 1 and this is what the front lines look like right now. Notice the huge gap in my lines. I need to fix that ASAP. I have
23.2K HRS's assigned,
504 HRS's on hand, and I've lost
29.5K HRS's so far.

It's now
T28 round 2 and I just now finished the surround on the Soviet defenders in
Kharkov and I expect to soon own the city. A lot of the Axis units in this image need to be moved to the north to fill in that huge gap in my front lines. I'm hope-ing to get enough units there in time to stop an ongoing crisis.

It's still
T28 round 2 and this is what it looks like near
Stalino right now. My goal in this AO is to stop up all the crossings over the Donets River. Most of the Axis units in this image are moving
SE toward
Stalingrad which is the long term goal of this group. It will take several turns yet to accomplish the clearing out of this area and covering all the crossings over the river. Let's call this operation Blue Cobra.

It's now
T28 round 4 and this is what is going on near
Leningrad right now. As the
Leningrad defenders shrink in numbers I need less Finn ground units to babysit them so a division at a time are being moved to a rail hex near
Leningrad to be railed to further adventures next turn. I'm thinking of railing some RR arty up here to bombard that Soviet CD gun just offshore to the west of
Leningrad. I'm not sure I need to do that but to be able to bombard it while not being in range of your target's guns is intoxicating. I'd rather not attack it with aircraft because it's got multiple AA guns in that hex.

It's now
T29 round 1 and this is what is going on near
Babayevo right now. I've run into a couple of groups of Soviet units and I'm attempting to start a surround on both of them. There's not much of strategic value up here but I feel inclined to push east just for the fun of it. I have
22.4K HRS's assigned,
470 HRS's on hand, and I've lost
30.7K HRS's so far.
