RE: Japanese Pilot Training

Hi, What I do is I use a portion of my groups to provide replacement pilots to front line groups. Then when the group returns (90 days) I fill it with untrained pilots and begin the training cycle. At first I set it to training 0 percent. I let it get to 99 morale and then begin raising the training levels. Pilots that are below 30 do not seem to have to actually fly. (They gain points even when group is training 0 percent) Leaving the group set at around 30 percent seems to work fine. (The program is supposed to pick pilots to fly based on two criteria. Their present level and number of missions they've flown. So as pilots gain level they fly less often giving the lower skilled pilots priority. ) Of course if I raised the training percentage more pilots would fly but since I don't want to have to check each and every group every single turn I leave it low so I don't begin losing pilots to fatigue. As the group nears completion or if I have a pressing need for pilots I begin setting the levels higher but taking days off to rest. For bombers you can train 100 percent fighters cannot train more then 90 percent per day. Training a higher percent of pilots shortens the length of time required to train but also you'll lose more pilots. (Once a group begins training and gets beyond a certain level you need to stop accepting replacments or you'll never finish the group) When the group gets to the level of training I will accept I split it and send it to the groups that need replacements. When it returns (90 days) it starts the cycle all over again.
The pool is another entity. A specific number of trained pilots are placed inside per month. For Japan it will be empty most of the time. If I accept replacements into a group while pilots are in the pool they will go into the group. (I'd like a toggle to turn this off)
