Inside... I know, it's really getting difficult to wait.. But, a few more days won't really hurt. I have a major Church Wide meeting to be ready for on the 31st. So, even if I can DL, I won't be able to play for a couple of days.
Oh well..

OK: Does the ? go inside "?" or outside ""? ?
"" at the end of a sentence "go on the outside." But I must admit this is NOT my strong suite by any means.[8|]

I'm 57 and my first boardgame was Avalon Hill's original Gettysburg. I think my first computer wargame was Gary Grigsby's "Guadalcanal" (and I still see the roots of WITP in that game). I had an Apple II + at that time.

Or as Homer Simpson put it " I used to rock and roll all night and party every day. Then it was every other day. Now I am luck to get funky once a month"

42 soon to be 43 (Friday), the patch will have to wait until Saturday, the wife has "plans" for Friday. My guess is dinner, a movie, and
Started with Panzerblitz/Panzergeneral in 73 and computer wargames with Kampfgruppe in 86. Favorite boardgame would be Airforce/Dauntless and the expansion (before AH rereleased it). Had a blast flying Zero's and Wildcats.

I'd like to hear from you old timers how you got into computer war gamers!
I was born the same year the Korean War broke out. That was a lot of wars ago.
I started playing strategy games right after visiting the Gettysburg BattleField on the Centennial of that battle, you guessed it my first game Avalon Hill's original Gettysburg, bought it there and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Transitioning to computer wargames was pre-ordained. In fact there’s only two reasons why I even know how to turn on a computer,
My job and computer wargames.
I needed to know how to use the damn thing, because my profession jumped in with both feet, With wargames I was having trouble-finding players that still played or for that matter had a clue about History, Warfare or Tactics,
That all changed when I found Gary, SSI, Matrixgames and the rest of you nuts. To think I even bought Steel Panthers and SPII

48, started wargaming at 14 when I discovered the books by Donald Featherstone at the local library. About three years later I found an Advert for S & T in a magazine, subscribed from (iirc) issue 30 through to 72. Along the way there were some great games, including one based on this very subject...
I don't get on with Twitc/FPS very well, I prefer 'higher level' ones. TOAW, Europa Universalis and Strategic Naval Gunnery are, to me, stand-outs, although there are others - including Steel Panthers, as a change of pace and 'level'.
Steve.
