When this bug is fixed, will a patch come out immediately with the fix, or do we have to wait for a big 1.4 patch?
I hope we get the fix immediately with what ever else you have also corrected.

Hold off on some of these reports from Lemurs version. Me and Ron have a hunch we are going to test.
We think Lemurs added a leader or 2 to the game, so he may have bumped the list down and messed something all to heck and not known it. The editor is not user friendly IMO. A mistake is real easy to make and not catch it.
Based on the save Ron sent me the entire leader data base is hosed... How much of that if anything that Lemurs did when he created his scenario I don't know but what Ron did (inserting a few leaders into the database) absolutely messed your version up...
Issues like this are the main reason why I will not look at saves from non stock scenarios for bug reports.
Pry. Even though I played with leaders in my scenario and screwed them up, I only sent 2ndACR(Dave) the wpc, wpd, and wpc files, overlaid on a Lemurs, for the purposes of the ASW test. We are starting again doing same thing but with a stock wph015 added as well just out of curiosity. I can see how you willnot look at anything other than a stock scen 015...this is all so bewildering.[X(]

Please understand, Frag, I am very appreciative of your efforts, as well as pry's and Mike's. Seems to me y'all have been handed the business end of a pretty sh1tty stick.
I'm just trying to cope with the effects of this thing and keep my games going. The sc. 15 game I had going as the Japanese player under v. 1.3 has already dried up, the American player quitting in disgust after six months of losing every carrier captain, Nimitz, and half his submarine commanders.
I'm trying to be patient, but I dunno. Other people are reporting phenomena that just leave me shaking my head (Spruance in command of a submarine?) and wondering if this is at all "patchable." You know more about it than I do, so I guess I'll just wait for the results.

As i read all the bug reports and workarounds posted by Frag it looks like the prorocess of taking leader from the pool and then putting him back (or deletining if he is killed) is bugged. In ideal world changing leader's database shoudn't cause any problems, IMHO.

You should see my ship captians in the Dude v. Zeta16. I never really checked before and looked at SF in 4/43 and I have a ton of leaders on ships missing. I will cope.

Even with a fresh leader wph015 file from a stock 1.30 build the Lemurs 4.0 we just started is completely leader corrupted. Not one ship disbanded in port on turn one (have not issued any orders) has the correct leader, or the right branch of service for that matter.

Just another tidbit, in case it might be helpful. I am at April 5, 1942 in a sc. 15 game, Allies vs. AI. I was browsing through the ship availability screen and came across this (Princeton is not due for almost a full year):

They are getting replaced too? Holy freaking crap.

Is it possible to alter the database to keep it from displacing the contents of columns and rows?

Nope. Not if it is a filled database, such as leaders. The only thing you can do is replace, nod insert/delete.

I was referring to the formatting of the database. The columns contents can't be "locked" in anyway? Just seems that as soon as a leader is lost when a ship is sunk, the list is displaced and all those ships disbanded in port suffer a leader shift. I've physically replaced leaders and did not lose them.

I wasn't meaning to be insulting or anything, if I came across that way I apologize It just seemed to me like Mr. Frag was saying that if you did this and this, you would lose no leaders, which is not the case.
Gotta try harder to insult me. You always have to remember, I don't care what you think, I am just trying to get the game bugs fixed and if that annoys people along the way, who really cares in the end? All you'll remember in the end is there are no bugs, you will have forgotten about the trip and the beatings along the way [:D]
>...if that annoys people along the way, who really cares in the end?
Are you just venting steam here or do you really believe this?
Who cares? Your user community cares, thats who.
How much valuable feedback are you missing out on because your clients are being treated with contempt throughout the process. Software development is a community effort. Dont alienate your user base, they are your bread and butter, and have long memories.

They don't really alienate anyone. We bitch about bugs, they bitch about users. That's normal.

Ron Zip up your files and send me a copy I'll see if I can sort it out for you.

Pry,
Which files do you want? I am the Japanese player against Ron. I may have made a boo boo, but I do not think so.
I took the wph015 file and copied it to another directory, renamed it to wph026 and copied it into the scenario folder. Was that the right file for leaders? List what files you want me to send and I will send them to you.

Really, you'd think after all these years that people would clue in to that fact but every forum I have ever seen, people think screaming and ranting produces results. It doesn't produce anything except more screaming and ranting.
I am only interested in getting all the bugs fixed. You can work towards the same goal or you can rant about the fact there are bugs. Ranters get ignored while polite people get helped. Lifes like that. You would think based on the average age of war gamers being 30+ that this does not need to be explained. [:D]

One of my biggest complaints in the leader pool as it stands now are the crazy
choices we are given. In Mid February of the PBEM game I'm playing as the Allies
I went to try to replace a less-than-sterling sub commander. The list of choices
was composed almost exclusively of Admirals. To command a sub? What is going
on here? Where are the captains?

Are you replacing the sub commander, or the sub TF commander. I made the same mistake. If you replace the sub's CO, like a surface ship, there are CPTs, LCDRs, and LTs.
