You have that backwards.The US based teams saved the CFL.The money that the league was able to bring in through exspanson fees is what saved the league from going bankrupt.
- They heloped the CFL not save them or else they'd still ne here
-The expansion did give a lot of exposure and prevented bankruptcy
-CFL still lost money and They'd have to be careful where they place teas

I got it backwards? I heard that the CFL expansion fees didn't help out that well because quite a few of the US Based leagues hardly had the money to pay the league, especially in there first seasons. Maybe I'm wrong on this as I only heard this through rumor, but the majority of the US Teams were not run very well and overall the league was in the Red. If it weren't for the NFL giving them a loan in the late 90's, its very possible the CFL would have been history.
I also heard a US Buisness man (don't know his name) was the one that convinced the Canadain owners to try the "Southern Experiment", I think it might have been the Sacramento owners or something. Anyway, from what i heard this experiment might have worked if it was only 1 or 2 US Based teams, but he wanted full expansion down south. And like Old Coach said, competing for Markets that already have Major Colleges or NFL teams nearby didn't help out this experiment at all.
And it wasn't the expansion fees that saved the CFL, it was the NFL's loan that got them out of the Red that saved them.

It was only with the sale of the Toronto Argonauts from Harry Ornest to Bruse McNall,John Candy,and Wayne Gretzky,that exspansion into the United States was proactively sought.
A Passing Game
At this time interest in the CFL seemed to be at an all time low.Every year it seemed a possibility that the league would fold same old same old.Then it started to become a mindset for me anyway that yes the league could fold I lived through this period.I seen the news casts and followed it very closely.
It was deperate times it would have to be to consider exspanding into the United States.There was a big concern that exspansion into the United States could lead to another NHL were the Americans would take over the league and change the very foundation of the CFL.
WHICH TO SOME EXSTENT WAS HAPPENING IN MEMPHIS WERE PEPPER ROGERS WAS NOT PROMOTING THE GAME BUT TRYING TO TURN IT INTO 4 down American football he even would put in plays with just 11 men.
The league collected enough exspansion money to keep the league going through this troubled time.With out this infusion of money the CFL would never had made it to get the NFL loan which I agree also helped keep the league going.When the American teams folded there finiancial problems went with then not effecting the league.
When the league contracted to Canadian only teams they put in a marketing stragity that worked Radicaliy Canadian it was called.Whith the NFL loan the league was able to stablize itself.

Point
-CFL shouldn't try NFL expansion again if they want a good amount of teams.
- If they want US teams I suggest no more than 4 US teams

Roster updates
* ROUGHRIDERS
Traded up for QB Kerry Joseph, added WR Jason Armstead and Canadian FB Cory Hathaway. Filled biggest needs with a top-flight QB and dynamic returner, who also contributes to offence.
-Lost the great Corey Holmes to Hamilton for 1st pick in dispersal draft.
* STAMPEDERS
Filled needs with Canadians, linebacker Cam Yeow and receiver Markus Howell. Yeow adds depth on defence with George White out to start season, while Howell solidifies group of Canadian receivers.
* ESKIMOS
Got sackmaster Anthony Collier in first round but added high-priced overachiever WR Pat Woodcock. Collier will fight for playing time on deep defensive line, while Woodcock has been a disappointment since leaving Montreal.
* LIONS
Grabbed interception leader DB Korey Banks with sixth pick and took flier on K Sandro Sciortino in fourth round. Banks adds to already strong secondary
* ARGONAUTS
Traded first-round choice for a draft pick, then got DL Marc Pilon and WR David Azzi, Canadian depth players. got RB Sean Bennett late.
* ALOUETTES
Took DE Kai Ellis and seven other players for training-camp depth, none with much CFL experience. Only team content to keep drafting players on no one else's radar.
* TIGER-CATS
Traded No. 1 pick in dispersal draft to Saskatchewan for RB Corey Holmes, Canadian S Scott Gordon and first-round college draft pick in 2007. Picked up P Pat Fleming in second round. Holmes will complement Josh Ranek they say, but I think Holmes is way better
* BOMBERS
Upgraded weak offensive line with OL brahim Khan and OL Val St. Germain, plus snagged potential starting QB Brad Banks. Khan and Banks could be future stars for years in Winnipeg.

I can't beleive this! I actually agree with CFL_FAN_7 on something. [X(]
Regardless of whatever happened during that time in the 90's, the CFL is really better off just sticking to Canadian Expansion and keeping its league stable. It has a monopoly of markets in its own country and the NFL doesn't seem to have a desire to put teams in Canada anyways, best to just stick with what you have.
And if an expansion into the US ever does occur again (and I think that is quite unlikely), I agree with Old Coaches theory that Expansion of 1 or maybe 2 teams at most near the boarder, in cites that don't have major colleges, would be the best choice for the CFL. But again, I still think an expansion down south is very unlikely, at least not now. I think the Canadain owners knew it was a big mistake to do that experiment and they don't want to repeat it again.

click F12 , when you see the play or your uniform viewer . Then open your hard drive up , look for file your game is listed as . There is a folder in it for pictures you grab off screen Open that , you`ll see your pic.
