Yes, supplies are always important to raise the morale of the assaulting troops. Needless tosay that the the flanking movement is decisive in order to stop any possible enemy escape.
Targets in this case are similar to the chinese corps. Very low on experience, due to their being just raised from the pool. So it's important to get there asap, before their experience grows and they can master a more stiff resistance[8D]
