Instead of going to Oktoberfest, our soldiers are now hoping for some of the secret weapons to drastically improve things. We would like to order a lot of Maus-tanks,
U play to much WoT, Terje [;)]
Rasmus
Not enough according to my clan [:D]
Nah, not that much anymore, and if I based it on WoT, I would have wished for some F***'ed up French autoloaders [:D]

looks like the pay off for gambling with a series of nearly ok attacks - sooner or later you get one where all the random elements falls down on one side. Sort of akin to how the AI tackles Leningrad, just keep hitting at 1-1 (+ a little) and sooner or later ...
still, as above, you've done a great job building this redoubt and channelling the Soviet blow south of Berlin and into a belt where you have multiple lines
for what its worth, think you can still make it to mud, which would be a remarkable fighting retreat after your 1942 offensive stalled

1945 is not the best year as the Germans.
About the combat values I wonder if the initial combat value includes the forts modifiers, while in the final combat value your forts levels are down to zero. Breaking your line will take some time and you still have some reinforcements coming.

It all depends now upon how quickly I can build the new forts tbh.

Too bad I need lvl 3 forts for those reinforcements to be able to hold though...
In 1945, the German stacks simply cannot hold (as it should be though) on their own in the open.

well it's a matter of playing the clock now. It all depends on how long you can slow down the soviets even if he takes your forts down.

If the forts go, I will lose at least one, probably two hexes per turn.

Turn 188
Overall
Our last ally surrenders, we are now alone in our fight against the Red Horde. The USSR take three more "fort hexes" from us this turn, but luckily they cannot bring enough CVs to bring down the next fort line in the same impulse. This turn we also made one counterattack, it went well with a retreat/rout (two units retreated, 1 routed due to lack of space). The USSR made 38 attacks and scored 25 helds, 2 scouted, 9 retreats and 2 routs.
Losses
USSR : 130.000 troops, 1.713 guns, 553 AFVs, 948 AC.
Axis : 130.000 troops, 1.935 guns, 272 AFVs, 145 AC.
Axis units destroyed
Alot, aka all of the Hungarians.
German units disbanded
3 Fortified Zones, 1 Corps HQ.
German Pools
Manpower : 6.837
Vehicles : 185.421
Armaments : 74.937
Hiwi : 174

Turn 189
Overall
Not much for us to do but stand our ground and take whatever comes our way. So, nothing happens this turn, apart from 16 USSR attacks resulting in 14 helds and 2 retreats.
Losses
USSR : 75.000 troops, 896 guns, 246 AFVs, 558 AC.
Axis : 27.000 troops, 484 guns, 109 AFVs, 37 AC.
Axis units destroyed
None.
German units disbanded
1 Fortified Zone, and the Juterborg PzDiv is merged into another weak, newly arrived PzDiv.
German Pools
Manpower : 659
Vehicles : 181.112
Armaments : 21.163
Hiwi : 92

Turn 190
Overall
Business as usual. The USSR keeps attacking our line, and we make a few deliberately chosen counterattacks (red circles below). We spend some points on building some new fort zones, and making some changes to our aerial units. I do not really need to know what the enemy has behind its lines, so recon squadrons are less important now, what matters are fighters and bombers, so we exchange recons for fighters and tactical bombers. This turn was a good one for the LW, as we received a lot of Bf109K squadrons with 40 planes ready for action.
12 USSR attacks ended with 6 helds and 6 retreats, while all 3 of our attacks gave a retreat.
Losses
FUBAR.
Axis units destroyed
None.
German units disbanded
7 Fortified Zones.
German Pools
Manpower : 4.934
Vehicles : 178.476
Armaments : 0
Hiwi : 638
I really wish the Opel/Mercedes factories could start producing weapons instead...

If this keeps going at this speed you could make it into May.

By then he should have a FZ in every hex he controls.

It is possible, it all depends upon how much mud I will get.

Now why would I want that? [;)]
Nah, I only need a few more tbh. There is a point where there is no reason to dig in, as if a given line is exceeded the USSR will be able to surround us completely.

With the mud ahead, you might make it to the historical date of May 1945. [:)]

can't quite say 'looking good' but with that additional counterattacking punch, you must have a chance of getting to mud and thus May

Yup, although the USSR is now dangerously close to Berlin.
