Heavy AA Units - You will get some at Colombo PLUS the big AA Bde. While keeping them here is nice, it is wiser to spend the PP and ship them to the mainland. You will miss them "IF" John invades Ceylon and they are destroyed. [:-]

Got it!

I remember combining the split units on Ceylon, I don't remember if I moved everyone into Colombo or not. I did mine it heavily though.

Before we begin the 2-27-42 turn, does this look right for its time?
We cant use it unless J3 makes a sudden move for CONUS, and it can't be bought out, so no difference other than I would love to have these toys NOW! [;)]

Light air battles mostly.

Major "gotcha" win in the South Pacific! came with losses too, so not decisive but still put a smile on my mug!

I hope you are building Alice Springs and points south to support 4 engine bombers. You may not have much time. Do you have US engineers in Australia yet? In rout? I would not build anywhere north of Alice either. A small "recon" type unit may be helpful in the desert for early detection of any fast armor formations. Beware of using your larger ground formations where they could suffer elimination by envelopment. To protect vulnerable ports early I use what older and smaller surface forces I can scrape up to slow down the approach and egress of hostile TFs so the few TBs can get a shot in the am. It's not much but I have had some success. It does require a the proper HQ and their are precious few. Do you have many of the shorter legged Dutch destroyers left? Old light four stacker cruisers?

Yes Alice Springs has one RAAF base force and is getting the 2 USAAF base forces from Darwin. I have 22K in supply from there, so building up looks good for now . pix enclosed

No we have a couple of base forces (noted above) and J3 has moved quickly to cut off the movement routes from USA.
In rout? I would not build anywhere north of Alice either. A small "recon" type unit may be helpful in the desert for early detection of any fast armor formations. Beware of using your larger ground formations where they could suffer elimination by envelopment.

Hmmm is this a double entendre? YES we ARE getting routed [:D] The USAAF forces enroute right now are the Air Transports carrying the B-17E & P-40's groups, they are about 1/3rd of the way there... As for the hastily thrown together Divisions in OZ I have two HQ units with good experience with them, but low 30's experience against like numbers doesn't bode well. I have moved as much artillery as I can afford with them to help out.

The Dutch CL/DD's just got mauled and sunk in the "Great Australian Bight fight" a couple turns ago against the J3's BB's and escorts... The A-24's are spread out across the north bases because they don't have the legs for the Perth fight... If the B-17's get sunk or destroyed, it's pretty much over - I wont have the ability to move units freely from USA to OZ... That's what the DM's fight sinking J3's transports was such a big deal for me by Tahiti... I figure I cut 30% of his transport capability down there and he reacted strongly to it in his e-mail...

I appreciate the tips and will definitely see what I have around to do the land recon like you suggested.

I'm working on the moves I got from John just now and I put together a quick and dirty map of some of the heavy guns to see what's
where and I thought you guys might like to see it too. I have no idea where the Jap carriers are but I suspect they are around the
Perth area.
