Who would I be if not working on carrying out a truly STUPID Operation??!! Damn it. I am a JFB! We are going over to the attack in the Indian Ocean.

A Task Force of 3 CV, 2 CVL, 1 CA, and 8 Moon-Class DDs left Batavia three days ago and are moving into the depths of the IO before staging a raid near Ceylon. We have nearly 200 fighters and 150 Attack Planes for this. Three days prior to the CV TF leaving a TF of six fully loaded AOs (48,000 Fuel) moved out into this dead area of the seas.

This is the last Deep Water Raid to be staged by Japan. Let us HOPE it catches SOMETHING!


Following CRSutton's comment, a TF of 4 CA and 6 DD depart Yokohoma heading for Kyushu. Two Kongo's and a B-65 are nearly repaired and will follow. They shall be escorted by 8 DDs.

These three TFs are all that remains of the Operational Kaigun.

There are 11 CVs and 4 DD disbanded deep in the Kuriles...

Just got tomorrow morning's turn and this is Dan's response back to what I wrote earlier:

These are evil and dark days for the Vampire...I mean Empire. The Allies have so much force in such proximity that it seems overwhelming. I still worry every turn about your ability to turn and bite back. I hope your persistence and doggedness earns you good karma in the future. I just hope it doesn't show up in this game. With your gift for striking, I'll remain on my toes until the bitter end finally arrives. And then I'll miss the contest very much.


He hits on the same thing I said regarding time and relationship after five years.

I still regret for the lost occasion of stiffer resistance on Luzon...an year ago...


And, for lost occasion to draw a blow on CR army in Burma-Ramree after Sumatra victorius campaign's end;


The Indian Ocean's raid looks promising, lets hold and hope! But, man, why haven't you tried it before, why?

Lose I-201 and Ro-65 laying a minefield in the coastal hex next to Genzan, Korea while I-198 SINKS AVP Arend with a pair of TTs near Cox's Bazar. My SS still have teeth!

This month has seen just under 600,000 Fuel and Oil arrive (good to June) and my HI still has 434,453 left in the stockpile. Though supply is horrific the economy is humming along still cranking out all sorts of war material.



On Adar's comment above, Dan has told me that he knows where Japan's CV are nearly every day. Is Allied intel, truly, that good at this time???

Can’t speak if the last few months but it is not so much Intel as it is Dan. He rarely does anything unless he has a pretty good idea where the KB is. Since most players tend to keep the KB as one big group it makes the job somewhat easier. You should be able tell how he go the detection level is. Take a look at the aircraft lost screen and notice how many search aircraft he has lost.

John, since the end is nigh and your end will be dictated by autovictory VP ratio, you may have some options still to increase your VPs. It sounds antithetical, but can you build any ports or airfields domestically-in the home islands-to increase the VP level of your own bases? With domestic supply ensured for the intermediate to long term, you'll run 'out' of VPs before you run out of domestic supply.

Enjoy these last days of the game and go out in a blaze of glory John!! Glad this one is seeing a fitting end, well into 45 and still contested. I made a bet with Chickenboy ages ago, when the Sumatra stuff was happening I think, that this game would see 45.

When you both took a pause for a time, and Dan did some hiking, I paid of the debt. A while back Andre got in touch asking if I wanted my money back and some to pay his end of the now 'lost' wager as you both charged into 45. I declined. It's just my small tithe to this epic match, and glad I could pay the gods of the game for their persistence in getting you guys back in action! [:D]

Figured that if Dan and I hadn't pulled multiple stops, the game would have ended 18 months ago. That would mean that we fought the entire war in roughly 3.5 years.

Haven't Posted much so here is some of the views of mid-April. This is the chaos of Northern China and Korea!

Had a good ATA day where two Sweeps of F4U were met by nearly 100 Fighters over Fukuoka. Also absolutely MAULED a squadron of P-51 over Singers. NICE!
