Only four bombers made the run to Ningpo...but our LRPs catch the garrison by surprise! 6-1. Thus the goal originally stated way back during the invasion of Vietnam comes to fruition. The Australian Division 100% Prep is not needed....yet.

It has been a long time coming....now can I keep it? :o And exploit it?

Wasp did get hit with a torpedo in the afternoon....planes were diverted to other CVs and Foochow.

Our two lead light cruisers took a beating from kamikazes but I think our belt armor stood up well, deflecting lots of hits.

Only have the replay so far...

Excellent! Yes, I understand getting ahead of the curve when gobbling up territory. The psych aspect is also there, as anyone who has followed a Nemo AAR (or an AAR from his opponent) knows. On the positive side, it looks like Ningpo doesn't even have a road connection (I'm pretty sure other scenarios have a road connecting to the west). It'll take a while for him to threaten you there if he makes the effort.

Cheers,
CB

Don't like the moonlight and weather conditions....

Two large 9 ship Destroyer and Light Cruiser squadrons spotted at Shanghai....I was hoping our lead Fletcher/CL task force patrolling one hex away would either react or draw them out...but no joy.

Wasp has 40 float damage from a torpedo, while one of the lead light cruisers (Phoenix) has 40 sys and float damage from kamikazes and also a torpedo hit.

Ningpo's runways are in perfect condition, but currently only 3 supply.

Experimenting with strategic bombing....good day at Pescadores. Especially impressed by the Avengers. All the resource hits came today, while the shipyard get reduced by another 3...I suspect our bombs are hitting already disabled production.

The pilots in the Avengers aren't great, c50 bombing skill...but their planes drop 2 bombs, and have radar...they did well.

The dive bombers did well too...but their skill is c70. No plane radar, level bombing from 9k

I recall the road connecting too.

I think he would need to control the seas to mount any kind of counter attack....doubtful. Plus way too much has been cut off and left behind, I think. I guess he could empty some of his garrisons....I hope he tries. ;)

Can confirm. Currently playing against Nemo and he attempted an invasion of the Kuriles in December 1941. Probably the most fun Witp game I have played so far
