I recall the road connecting too.

I think he would need to control the seas to mount any kind of counter attack....doubtful. Plus way too much has been cut off and left behind, I think. I guess he could empty some of his garrisons....I hope he tries.

The road to Ningpo is a dirt one - four days to march in. But does Japan have any paras and transports that can counter-drop? He may be able to rail those into Nanking in about a week and drop from there.

I don't think Japan can play that game in 1944. Not on a port base.

Turn is away....should be an exciting round....there is a chance Japan can catch the Deathstar with surface ships, as there is a chance I can catch the KB with surface ships. I plotted an intercept...

This Desron, originally had two light cruisers that were hit by Kamikazes yesterday...the taskforce spent something like half their ammo fighting them off...the two light cruisers beat a hasty escape I hope.

Moonlight is low, and the forecast for weather is thunderstorms....so I hope to put PT boats and destroyer squadrons to good work early....

Burke is in charge for the USN...but the IJN destroyers do a good job of shepherding the destroyers away....

This is the only early cruiser force going in...or should be. For some reason, this task force is commanded by an decent Aussie Skipper I think.

This is why I was hesitant to send it big ships....

Benedict Arnold scored four 5" hits....Alabama did good work too. E's deck armor blunted the AAA hit.
