Interesting attack here....the two attacking kamikazes are at 35k feet? They both get thru and hit the Corregidor.

Other than poor Wasp, which I am guessing was broken off at some point, probably lucky she wasn't hit by an Iboat.

I guess there is always tomorrow.
Our transports flew into LRCAP over Ningpo...not sure how much we lost there.
Not really a bad day. Hopefully the 1st Aussie Div is unloaded at Ningpo, along with some Pioneers and Royal Naval Engineers. Along with some resupply ships.
More when I get the turn...

Our transports paid the price today....but they did fly in most of 2 engineering units, but more importantly our supply ships are Ningpo to rearm our ships.

Once we close down Shanghai's Runway, we should be able to fly in transports again. None of the adjacent bases are built up.
Looks like Japan will be able to evacuate Wenchow (7 units). Two more Allied Divisions unloaded at Foochow...
I seem to vaguely recall merchant and naval production facilities that get captured by the Allies are converted into shipyards? It will be a while before I take Shanghai...

Magnificent carnage!
You are correct about the Merchant and Naval SYs converting to Repair SYs. IIRC there is random reduction in number of SY units lost in the takeover.

I have three slow battleships within bombarding range of Shanghai, and more than 10 heavy cruisers. The area is lousy with midget subs, and small craft of every style. I wonder how strong Shanghai's CD guns are? I will find out.
I am tempted to go all out for Shaohing today. Naval bombardment, aerial bombardment and a LRP drop. That would give us another base, a road line back to Foochow and give us road access to Hangchow which right now is lightly defended. Plus I could shift our shipping there today, throwing off Japanese LRCAP...and have the 1st Australian Div land there tomorrow. Something to think about.
Somewhere I have troops prepped for Hangchow and Shaohing...
Also, I wonder what some of the ports on the river look like as a different use of LRPs... cut the line to Shanghai if however briefly. That dot base is screaming for some paratroopers.

Lots going on, for sure!
I will take Oosthaven today, more Marshall atoll invasions over the next few days, and assembling a Ponape invasion. Positioning for a Babeldaob raid too.

What is left of Burke's Command....I lost track of the number of engagements...I didn't include a bunch with small patrol type craft.
Stationed one hex SW off Shanghai.... have an AD and AE in Ningpo to rearm. But they will head back to Amoy, our closest repair base (with AR, and 7 ADs).
