VERY good USSR results in the north (and crappy to say the least rolls for me as always) means that the northern flank is almost unhinged. I think the downfall will come sooner rather than later now.

I forgot to count the number of attacks again. But it is clear that I will lose the game north of Berlin, and there is nothing I can do about it unfortunately. We launched 3 attacks, and scored 2 helds and 1 retreat, which is really not good as that is a sure way to lose a lot of troops. Oh well.

Hehe no worry. In the end the Axis cannot really do much, just try to dislodge a stack or two. Unfortunately the numbers does not work for the Germans in -45 as they do for the USSR in -41.

The USSR launches a lot of attacks and score rather well. However we counterattack more than before, and we cut off and isolate two USSR guard corps. True, they will be saved, but still, a morale boost to us, and a show of strength to the USSR. A warning as well, do not get too confident, we still have teeth!
34 USSR attacks ended with 21 helds, 10 retreats and 3 routs. The good news is that they were unable to break through one line and in the same turn take out the next line anywhere. We make 8 attacks and score 2 helds and 6 retreats.

I find that more annoying in -41 and -42 when there were still the "charge through or be shot when you come back"-mentality as well as poor tactics in the USSR army....
I actually find it more annoying as well that it is so darned easy to reduce a fort when your attack fails miserably....

Do you want the good or the bad news first? Well, if you opted for good first, then I am sorry.
In the South, the USSR breaks through our defensive line, and I will lose 3 divisions here. The good news. Well, atleast I have a second line in the rear ready for the USSR to break through, and I have spare divisions to fill the gaps. Second piece of good news is that our Berlin defenders have repaired the damage to the fortifications, so that the fort level is once more back at 3.
27 USSR attacks meant 17 helds, 8 retreats, 1 rout and 1 surrender.
