Ah Orm's back - its the cavalry in the mountains - so Assault or Blitz?

Not sure why the Soviet fighters didn't fly?

I feared that if I scrambled any fighters the German fighter might stay grounded. Since Germany has air superiority in USSR I prefer to conserve my air force.

I suspect the Japanese will run out of units before the US even shows up.

Once again fractional odds take this to 4:1 but the roll is a 2. The Cavalry is destroyed at a cost of two units and disorganisation.

Nah. Japan has high enough production to replace their losses. Just like China. [;)]

Edit: Although taking marines as losses hurts.

CW begins to patrol the Eastern Mediterranean with Indian fighters.

USA reinforce the Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor with two carriers.

Western Allies send out plenty of convoy escorts. They also send fleets to the North Sea, Western Med as well as Eastern Mediterranean. Their submarines sail for the Italian Coast.

CW search for the Italian naval bomber in the Eastern Mediterranean. They find it on a die roll of one and CW gains three surprise points since Italy rolled 5. CW use their advantage to increase their air combat value with one. The Allies roll good enough in the air combat and the Italian bombers are shoot down.

Italy can send up one fighter to intercept the French bomber. France can counterintercept with a 5 strength FTR2 and one FTR3. Will Italy send up their fighter?

And if the French bomber clears to the target Italy can use their AA to try and protect Turin. Will they use the AA?

The bombing of Sapporo and Taranto fail to produce any result.

The Japanese put 2nd Fleet into the China Sea accompanying amphibious transports with the 27th Infantry Army aboard.

No Strategic Bombing

The Japanese use all four air moves to try and ground strike the Chinese in Port Arthur. A land based Nell is joined by the pride of the carrier air arm. The results are erm.. sub optimal….. just one hit is achieved but this is on the 1-factor out of supply unit so doesn’t really help.

Von Bock heads south to a more central position where he can keep a watchful eye on his troops. Army Group North is cheered by the presence of the 37th Infantry Corps who are making their way towards the Belorussian Front.

In the south a mighty offensive is about to begin north of the Dneister. The full might of the 4th Panzerarmee and the 4th Romanian Army prepare to destroy a Soviet partisan.

Meanwhile in Manchuria, the 27th Infantry attempt to seize Port Arthur from the sea, in conjunction with elements of the Kwantung Army.
The question arises re the use of the notional unit. The odds are 1:2 with and 1:1 without. I believe that a +1 is added to the dice with. However, on the basis that it’s a full odds column different I am going to say Orm would say Yes to the notional. Battleships and cruisers add their gunfire support to the operation.

In the Soviet Union, I decide that the Soviet bombers will not be diverted by an attack on a Partisan given the presence of a German fighter.

The German attack is automatic.

Over in Manchuriasville, the odds are 3:2 +2 on the Assault Table….

France ground strike Tripoli for no effect. CW ground strike Italian forces next to Tripoli with their two best bombers and disorganize one territorial.

China close in on the Japanese intruders. CW advance towards Tripoli.

CW reinforce Malta with a AA unit. CW also reinforce Singapore with 1st Australian Corps.

Wavell reach the outskirts of Tripoli and, with the aid of massive bombardment by RN, crush the Libyan defence.

No reorganization.
