The Allied impulse saw US subs destroy a Japanese cp in China Sea and another in the Marianas but achieve just a single combat round.

The Red Army withdraws on the eastern front, but weather roll 1 causes blizzards and leaves a number of their units exposed through being both disorganised and out of supply.

The shattering of Yeremenko's HQ in the Smolensk sector was worth it, despite the loss of a German Armoured Division.

In the south the Reds abandon a disorganised heavy artillery division as bait.

AXIS #3 MAR/APR 42

Italy takes a naval move, Germany and Japan land actions.

From four Italian naval searches, only a sub in Cape St Vincent finds.

The sub destroys 1 CW cp and aborts two more to Gibraltar. Most surprise points were used avoiding excessive damage from the escorts. The sub aborts to Brest and the remaining sub hides for round 2.

Bad weather inhibits the Japanese.

They occupy Batavia on Java in the NEI, Henderson Field on Guadalcanal, and Singapore.

Strangely, this earns the USA an entry chit against Japan (though already at war.)

Kuala Lumpur is besieged by Yamashita's Army Group.

York is destroyed by Japanese cruisers Aoba, Isuzu and Natori.

But the Japanese cannot find the cps in round 2 (9, 7).

Von Bock moves forward in the Smolensk sector and destroys old and out of supply Soviet fighters.

The Germans launch two automatic attacks. The first is against the stranded artillery (crucial contribution last impulse in slowing Manstein, but surely a valuable unit.)

A juicy target in the Smolensk sector for Von Bock's Army Group.

The Germans and Japanese rebase aircraft.

End of impulse.

AXIS #9 MAR/APR 1942

Japan closes the Burma Road at long last. No point appeasing now.

Japan and Italy combined, Germany land.

Only naval search to find is Bay of Bengal 3, 8. Carrier planes kill both CW cps.

The Germans advance cautiously in Ukraine, the weather is appalling.

Stalino and a red factory not yet railed out by the Soviets (who have diligently protected their factories) are taken, and Berdiansk.

AXIS #3 MAY/JUN 42

Allies won the initiative, despite an Axis re roll. Oh look a huge Yankee fleet in my home town port. The CVs parked in Spithead, presumably.

This hostile action is deplorable, and allows the deployment of an RN fleet to the Western Indian Ocean to confront the Japanese.
