Meanwhile, while collecting sea cucmber migration data South of Fukue-jima, SS Haddo has a bad scare when she is attacked by 12 kt PB's despite her SPCA and Univ. of Calif. flags clearly displayed.

The things I did to get an average of 1 contact a day ..

1. I replaced most of the submarine commanders . most in my game were awful ..
2. Radar upgrades
3. I created three patrol zones.
a. Gilberts / Marshalls with my 4000 endurance platforms . that is because the Gilberts is my main focus and attacts lots of xAK's ..
b. Between Babeldab and Truk running in 4 hex east to west and back patterns with multiple subs sweeping ..
c. Multiple submarines between Amami Oshima to Saishu To they do 4 - 8 hex runs with pauses in the open water ..

By sweeping I am running in parallel with pauses within the lane I want to patrol.

I am a newbie CPTN Mandrake but as per my AAR ..I found lots of contacts and an rare occasion hits ..what I have found is that the Dutch torps work but they cannot hit anything . my USN subamarine commanders are throwing shoes, marbles, eggs .. and anything they can find as 10 torp shots yield all duds ..

Just a thought ..

Radar?

The radar would have to be in Toodjay or something. I doubt the HOA would allow it.
I know Tojos are not carrier capable. Right?

I hope to Sweet Jesus those damn things are not carrier capable. <makes Dominican baseball player crossing sign for getting a base hit>

Right. Have avoided that. Uggh. We just got slick pilot management tools and now the sub captains? I don't know if I have the psychic energy.
2. Radar upgrades

Right, done that.

Right, our S-boats are North of Oz covering Darwin, Broome, Port Hedland. This is a target rich environment with air recon so we get lots of attacks. We also have S-boats around Guadalcanal with PBY recon from Ndeni so they find targets too.

The patrols around Truk and Palau are not paying off except rarely.

The biggest waste of resources appear to be near the home islands. We have had some luck in the East China Sea but I think JJ is varying their routes. That is my chief question for Japanese players. Do they hug the China coast? Where are the TK's from the DEI?*

If the F-4's flew over Broome and PH today we can spot them.

There are choke points to the north and south of Taiwan/Formosa unless they're going the long way around Borneo.

Right, that is where USS Cuttlefish got sunk. The ASW air assets are brutal there. The subs were getting damaged and spotted by LYB bombers and search planes. That is why I moved back to the East China Sea.

Dude...I used to have a waterboard when I lived in SoCal, man. Cool times. Some waves, some bud and a waterboard / surfboard / Boogie board. Righteous times, yo.

There is a billboard on the 55 Freeway that reads "Actors, Models and Talent for Jesus", followed by directions to some place in LA.

Huh? Is it a talent agency for actors who want to get rid of their Jewish agents? Are they putting on a new production of Godspell? Is Jesus running commercials now? I've seen plumbers with the little fish thingy on their bumper but this kind of takes it to a whole new level.

It would be a hoot to go up there and introduce yourself as a Christian porn actor or do an old Borscht Belt stand up routine. [:D] Sometimes I wish I had more time.

The water bill was $810 lst month[X(] Santa Maria! I think I have a leak outside. I calculate 7 cu ft/day. Once you get above a certain point it's $3.40 a cu ft. [X(] I don't spend that much on generic gin. I'll have to put the Mayan to work with a little tiny pick axe to dig up the line.

Stalker Girl gave me a ration because the Mayan put her boulder-holders in a box. Maybe it would be safer if I had her work outisde for a while.

Adm. King: Mr. Cheatham, I'll get right to the point, what the Navy needs are the prefered transit routes for Jap tankers from the Dutch east Indies to the Home Islands.

I. Dunn Cheatham, Esq.: Hmmm, that is a tall order, Admiral.
I'm afraid my client will insist on immunity on this matter and it would have to come from the Big Guy.

Adm. King: You mean God?

I. Dunn Cheatham, Esq.: No, below him.....

The even more pitiable state of US heavy bomber replacements.

If I understand this correctly, the B-17F is out of production but we still get about 24 a month?

Also, what is the deal with the B-24D1? Does it have fancy drink holders or something?

Over the B24D the B24D1 drops a hex of range but adds '3' (to 30) [that 11% more effectiveness] to the gun value .. those extra drink holders will also mount .50 cals [;)]
