I was a sometime commentor on the other side, but kept up to date with your side of story as well, just never commented. As I told CR: "Great match, it was a pleasure watching it unfold over all these years. Now I need to find something else to do over my lunch break. Thanks for a great ride!" [&o][&o][&o]
ps - Really glad you didn't knuckle under and take your toys home after the main carrier clash eaarly in the game. (I'm pretty sure you are too.)

Heck ya! I am glad to have played this deep into the game. Learned SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much towards my next game. Really recommend all JFB put themselves through this depressing end-game agony.

I'm here to translate for John, since I'm a word-smith and he's a graduate of Kansas State or some other forsaken institution of education.
When John says, "Really recommend all JFB put themselves through this depressing end-game agony," he actually means, "It is trying in the extreme to endure the just retribution of a fully aroused democratic republic bathed in light, virtue and nobleness. When I heard the melodic stanzas of 'America' it makes me weep for what might have been had my nation-state not fallen into ignoble tyranny and blood-lust. I am ashamed of myself and my people. I sometimes lose control of my bowels when I perceive the righteous retribution visited on the armed forces of my nation and the way my beloved Kansas City Chiefs unfailing underperform in the playoffs. It makes me want to be a Raiders fan. In fact, I am a Raiders fan. I think I'd better stop wearing bro-tanks while exposing my pasty white thighs beneath the limpid light of the winter sun. I think I'll crawl into my man cave and bleet. See you'uns later on."

Well done to both of you, the amount of time you've spent in the game and posting AARs was definitely a mighty endeavor.

1) Japan - what warships (DD and up) were still afloat at the end?

OK. Just went through and checked for surviving warships:
13 CVs Original Survivors: Akagi, Hiryu, Soryu, and Shokaku
3 CVL
1 BC Kirishima
6 CA
2 CL
23 DD (11 1st Class and 12 2nd Class)
25 SS
The tremendous loss of escorting ships during the Sumatra Campaign totally hamstrung the remaining Fleet elements for the last 18 months of the war. Lost way too many CL and DD during that wild fight. It was a victory for Japan but it came with a high butchers bill.

Those are interesting numbers. I knew you were in dire shape for CLs and I was pretty sure your DD numbers were low. That last tough naval battle, in which I lost CB Alaska and two CLs, and you lost BB Kongo and 9 DDs, would've been pretty decisive going forward. It was a great move for you to assemble the forces to fight a good fight there at Fusan but it left the cupboard pretty bare.

in a leotard on bike, and a woman on a horse. The woman let me pet the horses muzzle and the mare
returned the favor with long exhales of what passed for steam for me. I thought of Dan. I never
really considered what the other side must have felt like here late on the afternoon of the 4th of
July. But to answer your question, BOTH OF COURSE!.......I jest.

What were your losses in DDs and SS? Am curious as to how many I actually sank.

Might have been the same one. We definitely had SS interest by the readers and myself. That number is about what I guessed. That is a lot of DDs. More then I would have thought.
When you ran into the Fusan Fortresses, how many ships did you lose? The ships sunk list went haywire with 4-5 DDs and a CL. I doubted that number but am curious.
