OK. This is just after the German T3 and so is the beginning of Allied turn 4 ( T4 ). The Germans attacked on the West side again
and broke through again. The 51st British Division isn't there yet so the Americans might just have to hang on for at least one more
turn. I'm thinking I don't want to just spread the British elements out interspersed among the American units, I want the British to take
the edge closest to the water and the Americans can take over just north of the British. Something like that.

Here's my T4 moves. I'm counterattacking to see if I can't restore the front lines on the West side and I've surrounded a stack of
German stuff and I'm pretty sure it's going to fight it's way out of the noose. So it's not really cornered yet.

Here's the positions at the beginning of turn 5. German attacks have forced the American to give way and the 51st British Division is
finally in a position to help out. Meanwhile on the East side, the British have dispatched that German stack and can now start the
advance toward the north. The isolated paratroopers have lost lots of men and equipment and they need to be rescued very badly.

Here's my T5 moves. Still trying to straighten out the lines on the West side. On the East side we've connected the paratroopers with
a LOC and perhaps some small modicum of supply and I've covered him under the umbrella of some arty so I'm hoping we can save
them yet. I've sent some armoured engineers out to the north in indian country and he moved east and found some German armoured
engineers. Now that I've found him I can pound him by air.

Here's some typical attack results of a German attack on one of my positions and the Americans were forced backward. D'oh.

Here's the positions at the start of T6. I've annoted the picture to give you an idea what's going on where. The East side is doing
pretty well but the West side is being forced backward slowly. It's absolutely embareasing.

Here's my T6 moves. I've set all the defensive arty to three-dot attacks and almost every bomber is on CS missions and so the front
lines might just hold better. We'll see.

Here's my turn 7 moves: Still pressing north on the East side. So far so good on the West side.

I am on turn 19 and on turn 16 I captured Messina. My counter colors are different. The only 'irritation' for me is the darn Luftwaffe is pesky, other then that I need to refit some divisions and get them ready for the Salenaro operations.
Fun scenario!

Are you using the version 2.0 of this scenario? Not that it makes much difference. I need to capture Messina by turn 16 in order to
do as well as you are doing then. Wish me luck.

I can't imagine why they are different.

I agree that the Luftwaffe is positively a burden. And they shoot well too. So um....where is Salenaro?

Yeah, it is. I especially like the tactical "feel" you get from this scenario. And the low unit count for each side. There are a lot of
turns but they go quickly.

If it makes you feel any better I did the same thing and had to look around for the newest version too. I went to Steve's personal site to
get it. Telumar's link works just fine. You can always find the latest versions there.
EDIT: I'll play slower so you can catch up to me.

Here's what the East looks like now. Still pressing north. Overcoming German roadblocks and moving as fast as possible north.

I used a worn out recon unit to cut the LOC's of the westernmost group of Germans. So theoretically the Germans should be getting
weaker now and I can eventually overcome them w/ pounding by the air and arty strikes. I's going to take a couple of turns to work
right but it should be doable. That's the theory.

Here's the East side in T9. I've got the Germans surrounded and uninvolved units are moving north still. There's surely a rearguard
that isn't visible yet at Messina. It's not like the Germans to leave it unsecured.

Here's the West side now. I've gotten a surround on some German equipment and it's going to take a turn or two to take it down but
I'm working on it. That cutting them off from their supply really helped.
