Another 1000 tank Axis attack. But the losses are prohibitive and I can always counterattack the fatigued units. But it's awesome to see the Axis striking back like this.

Stef has done an excellent job on the defense in this game. Its impressive that even with all your pressure he's managing to deliver robust counterattacks with substantial concentrations rather than just spread everything out for a long slow defensive retreat

I will focus a little bit more on partisans over the next couple of turns. Strange things are happening. I have many incredibly overpowered partisan battalions. Over the next couple of turns some of them will actually reach almost division strength with TOE above 1000%. What is the reason for this? Are there no garrisons in the cities? Is this a flaw in the game? Anyway, occasionally the Axis can occur dramatic losses.

You do seem to have had more partisan activity than many players report. I think that there was a consensus at one stage to reduce partisan support in 1942 as the Axis rail net was more robust. I tend to the view that keeping up the pressure is essential. If the game is balanced then they are one of those applications of indirect strength that can still damage the Germans, in your case the only challenge for them is to find something intact to blow up.

As I'm now close from the border, I'm not focused on partisan activity. I keep on hunting them but use most of my security units for other purposes (mostly digging)

Rail density in Ukraine and White Russia is enough for what I need. Pripyat rails are destroyed/rebuilt each turn.

Looks like the game engine can't handle this unusual situation and partisan battles lead to exaggerated losses for the Axis. Something has gone wrong if a "battalion" has >6000 men.

Maybe partisan battalions should be hard coded to never exceed 100% TOE?

I believe we are close to a breaking point. OOB is going down now just from attrition. But I lack any experience regarding 44/45. Never played the game that long.

I really have too many forces east of Minsk. The tanks are nice for hitting the second line but I don't get the feeling that I will be able to break through. STAVKA is working on alternative plans.

The only remaining goal before mud is the rail junction of Korosten.

I put all the mobile and cavalry forces of Caucasus Front on reserve and it pays off. This doesn't happen very often.

T120 - Partisans

An overview of my partisan "battalions." Some of these numbers are real head scratchers.
