All part of my Mediterranean strategy that went hopelessly wrong in Spain, but I thought I'd stick with the Eastern prong.

Just the two attacks this impulse as the Germans seek to punch a hole in the Soviet defences by establishing bridgeheads across the Neman.

Aircraft are brought into bring both attacks up to 4:1.

For the attack in Lithuania, Fractional Odds bring the combat up to 5:1 with a +3 modifier on the Blitz table....

...the result is a 6(9). The Soviets lose a division and an infantry corps, the second corps is shattered. I convert to retreat.

The second attack is a little more tricky. There are no modifiers and Fractional Odds do not change the 4:1....

...The result is a 1! The Germans lose a unit (no cheap unit either [8|]) and are all disorganised.
