She sounds so French, and people who are accustomed to singing the Marseillaise know how to sing in major key and suddenly switch to minor key; she did the reverse and did it so effortlessly, then back to minor key. That really is extroardinary for a seven year old.

I really can't stop listening to her and am tearing up every single time I hear her.

There was that time, when the whole world knew us (USAers) by our music, jazz. To their ears (all of them) that music was superior (certainly in terms of vocal music) to anything they'd heard before (that's a stretch but you know what I mean). The Deutsch in particular were absorbing it and reflecting it as quickly as possible. Billie Holliday and Louis Armstrong were gods to so many people from other cultures. Everyone then (and now) knew what "OK" meant because of the worldwide fascination with our culture, music and film as well. Such a shame that we no longer have anything to offer to the world.
