A lot of Allied ships were fleeing from Tarakan and my SCTF took care of them in three separate engagements that
sank a lot of them and damaged a lot more. Also there was an airstrike on Macao near Hong Kong, and it got some
good hits and sank some.

New moves from Brian: I've got a CA that got hit by a TT at Truk that won't go into the shipyard and won't
repair standing down. I get the red 'X' when I try that. Is the shipyard too small? Is the port too small?
I don't have any spare escorts for it so I thought I'd try expanding the port a little to see if it'll go into
the shipyard that way. Or maybe repair itself at the pier. Maybe I can find another AR somewhere. I think
there's one at Hiroshima that I can move down here to Truk.

I went to the list of all ships and filtered on Aux and I discovered that Truk already has two AR's parked there.
So that's not the problem why I can't fix a CA. I'm thinking that the shipyard is too small and I can fix that.
It's going to take a couple of weeks to grow a bigger shipyard and the CA will be out of service all that time.
It's either that or ship it to Hong Kong to get it fixed. And I re-iterate that I have no spare escorts for it.
D'oh. It's going to have to sit out a lot of this war.

Since the CAs tonnage is 14,743 and the shipyard will only accept 10,000, you have a size issue. You will need to either enlarge the repair shipyard or send the CA somewhere else with a larger repair shipyard.

Ah, Ha. So.....that's what's going on. So if I expand the shipyard to 15 then
the CA will fit and all's well. I can do that. Thanks. I'll get after it.

I've discovered that I have only about three shipyards that will accept CV's and BB's. And they are in the home
islands. That's inconvient. Maybe I should build a large one at Truk or somewhere. Then the ships wouldn't
have to go all the way back to the home islands to get fixed. Lemme mull it over some more.

By late '43 when the Allied counter offensive is really beginning to gather steam, you'll find Truk as a primary target just because of a large Repair Shipyard. The way you're thinking, it will be over size 40 and able to repair every Allied warship by then. Any other large Repair Shipyard you want to gift wrap for the Allies? Maybe put a bow on?

My advice, start thinking thinks through a little bite more before jumping off the next available cliff.

EDIT: The Allies have to sent large warships to either Pearl or Cape Town above 20,000 tonnes. Second, why spend supplies for something you don't need?? Are your large Repair Shipyards in Japan overworked?

Ah, I see your point. Good point. And besides, it's cheaper to just escort the CA to Yokohoma and get it fixed.

Here's a list of what got captured and when and I intend to keep this up to date and bookmark it in my
web browser just to see what's going on where. That, and I thought maybe somebody should document it.

A situation has developed at Karor ( Babeldoab ). I've got five ships that need shipyard time but I've got room
for only three. I'm going to need a bigger shipyard in the fighting that's ahead. On the other hand most of the
fighting will hopefully be far away from Karor. Closer to Truk and Saigon and Rabaul. Maybe I don't need all
that much of a shipyard after all. What's the opinion of the readers pray tell.

I've just discovered that I have a CA at Balikpapan that's got major engine damage and there's no supply yard at
Balikpapan and the port's too small to repair the CA and there's no escorts to sail it to a larger port. So it's
probably going to sit there a while until I can find some suitable escorts. Words fail to explain how hard that's
going to be.

CA with 16 torpedo tubes? Japs know how to overdo things.

Target was having a sale on Torpedoe tubes one weekend and there was money in the
budget for it and they had to spend it or next year's budget would be that much
smaller so it was a no-brainer.

I thought I'd do a little light naval bombardment of Port Moresby and I had to tangle with Allied PT boats twice
going into the harbor, I sank 4 of his PT boats, and then pounded the beach and started some fires. Cool. I'll
have to do this again because I evidently missed the aircraft completely.

I have no idea what they were doing there or where they are going but I found some Allied ships near Hong Kong
and sank one or more of them.

Out of all the flights scheduled only one launched and it went in unescorted, again. Good thing Brian isn't fielding
any CAP at all. I think he's holding back saving some fighters for a valiant last stand when I get to Manila. I need
more recon of Manila.

I've got a situation on the north coast of Borneo, or Sarawak, or whatever it's called. At Miri I had an airborne
unit that I thought maybe I should fly to Kushing to help out in the fight there. But I didn't use enough TR's to
move the unit and it started arriving in fragments. And everytime a fragment arrived there was an obligatory
shock attack and I was loosing people so I shipped some people in instead and now the airborne unit is split between
places. I'm flying in some TR's to move the unit first from Miri to Kushing to get them back together and then
to Singkawang to get ready for the jump into Palembang. Or somewhere.

Nice to see you have gotten the major Oil Centers on Borneo. [:)]

However, the NW corner has part of Malaya and I see Singapore and some other bases still in Allied hands. What units do you have in Malaya? Is everyone of them prepping for Singapore? Are you bombing the AF there daily to prevent fort building?

Of course Singapore is still in Allied hands. This is still in January and
my boys aren't even close to getting there yet. They can traverse the terrain
only as fast as human feet can walk. I expect Singapore to fall sometime in
April of this coming spring.

Not at all. I'm using their planning target to tell me where they are right
now and they are all prepping for Kuala Lumpur and so on BUT I DO have the
HQ prepping for Sigapore. The Southern Expeditionary Army HQ unit.

I had four strikes scheduled yesterday but only one of them launched. More
bad weather? I don't need to escort them any longer but the flak is
terrific and is shooting my planes down at least one each strike. I'm
running out of planes. But yes, I have strikes scheduled for Singapore and
Manila and Bataan and Clark airfield with the goal of causing such damage
that fort building is forgone.

Here's where everybody is in Malaya. It was good for me to have done this because I have a much better idea
where everybody is and what everybody is doing.
