I see that not having a restriction on cross border transfer(manchuko garrison at full pp price) has a dramatic game changing effect. I request counter balance.
The russians would have been providing supply in real life. Request u activate the russians so that I can provide supply to china. The russians will not cross border.
Sadly , I want a no rules game but the effect(manchuko garrison used in china) borks the chinese in this senario. I must also apologize to you for changing the long run effect of this game. I should have assumed command using the original house rules.
I hope I have played a good china. It is possible I am to blame for the failure. feel free to publish this request on your AAR.
Sincerly,
Paul

FatR: I can't activate Russians right now, as I'll need to complete some troop movements before that, even with the assumption that the border won't be crossed. Will it satisfy you if USSR will be active by approximately January 10?

I note IJA army hq prep for USSR so your intentions are clear. I should be given time to relocate my troops as needed anyway instead of being forced to sit still and let u maneuver across the border for a best position...

Email to FatR.
I do wish for u to activate the russian front to supply the chinese.
Situation dicates no futher garrantee.
If u undergarrison the front i will attack, which would be in the long term interest of the russians.
Because of the above political comments I hope u do activate the russians and I hope u do provide a goodly amount of Manchuko garrison to keep me from attacking..

I have run many games with Active Russians and NEVER seen an Allied player act badly
When I pushed the envelope - invading Mongolia - they replied - locally - in Mongolia - until the cost
was so high I left the country
Russia and Japan cannot afford another major front in 1941 or anytime soon after that - so neither
should let it happen
But active Russians means the Japanese must garrison Manchuria - with planes not just troops - just as IRL.
IT also means the Allies can move things, control construction, etc - and that is simply the way it should be.

Have yet to see one whit of difference in the capabilities of radar equipped night fighters over conventional planes. I have the black widow now along with night F6F, corsairs, and beaufighters. All have proven to be a non factor and have no more kills over the non radar equipped planes (what few kills there are) However, any fighter unit on night CAP regardless of type will severely lessen the impact of any enemy bombing attack. My only point being don't worry about night fighters as anything will do. They have no more use than any other fighter at night. Sad but true. It is an excellent way to make use of the small New Zealand fighter units or units with 2nd line aircraft.

This was my original letter to FatR.

I see my diplomacy is alittle off the original base when at first I did recieve a warm response.
FatR: I can't activate Russians right now, as I'll need to complete some troop movements before that, even with the assumption that the border won't be crossed. Will it satisfy you if USSR will be active by approximately January 10?
Then i began to press my original position with this:
bigred: no, I want it now.
I note IJA army hq prep for USSR so your intentions are clear. I should be given time to relocate my troops as needed anyway instead of being forced to sit still and let u maneuver across the border for a best position...
This is where I may have goofed up:
quote:
I do wish for u to activate the russian front to supply the chinese.
Situation dicates no futher garrantee.
If u undergarrison the front i will attack, which would be in the long term interest of the russians.
Because of the above political comments I hope u do activate the russians and I hope u do provide a goodly amount of Manchuko garrison to keep me from attacking..
So give me an inch and i take a mile. In my first transmission I promised not to attack then later I said I would attack. Dont ever let me be a diplomat.

I agree. Any fighter on night mission appears to disrupt bombing runs with an "accidental" kill now and then.
