Anyways, my local batch of rodents love the handles of an overturned wheelbarrow for some reason.

Next to my computer desk is a window which looks out into my backyard. I keep it completely open, not even with a screen, as I wish not to have anything but air between me and the birds. If mosquitoes or hornets come in, so be it. On two occasions in consecutive years a chimney swift flew right into my room. Chimney swifts are not like the swifts some of you have in Europe. They cannot perch like other birds nor hop around on the ground. Their repertoire consists of two things, flying (and eating bugs) or grappling onto vertical surfaces. So the first time one flew into the room it was stranded and was squawking its head off, and my cat was very interested in this state of affairs. I went to the bird and picked it up by the wings, near the "elbows" and tossed it back out of the window and it flew off none the worse for wear. The next year it happened again, but this time the bird made no commotion and I picked it up and tossed it back out the window. I think it was the same bird and that it knew I would not harm it.
I have a chimney cap on my house because one winter when it got very cold, below 0°F, two or three starlings came down the chimney and into my basement. They couldn't find their way out so I had to dispose of them. The cap means chimney swifts cannot nest there. I looked into plans to make a free standing structure they could use to nest in but they are very elaborate and not cheap. They need to be a minimum of 12' tall and only one swift will nest there at a time. I think I'll take off the chimney cap instead.
Anyways besides several bird feeders of various types I am operating three hummingbird feeders at the moment. One of them is bee proof, but the honeybees know there is sugar water inside of it and keep trying to get at it. The hummingbirds are able to find an unoccupied port about half the time, but I am surprised how often they fly right up into my window and hover for 5 or 6 seconds giving me funny looks. If I were quick enough I could reach out and grab one. I figure they are thinking "what's that big ugly green thing in there?" or perhaps they are speaking to me (if it's dead quiet you can hear them chirp) and saying "what kind of crummy joint are you running here with all the bees at my feeder?"

See the way the cursor is migrating to the north west in this clip? I'm not touching the mouse but it does this all the time now regardless of what window I'm in. It's doing it in WitP-AE as well. Anybody know what's causing it? I've tried rebooting a couple of times to no effect.

I think it was the same bird and that it knew I would not harm it.

That's when you should have eaten it.

Yes. There are two things I have seen do this. One is a little tension on the mouse's cord, if it has one.

The other is some debris in or over the LED port on the underside of the mouse.

I think I'll take off the chimney cap instead.

Never mind fire hazard, do you really want a bird nest blocking the release of furnace gases such that they back up into the house?
Up here when it gets really cold in winter the downward draft of the high pressure system can push the furnace gases into the house. Carbon monoxide detectors are mandatory.

Yes. There are two things I have seen do this. One is a little tension on the mouse's cord, if it has one.

So I checked the mouse. There were a bunch of little hairs in there. I pulled them all out (had to use two different types of tweezers) but no luck. I unplugged the mouse from the PC, the cursor kept wandering, north by northwest. When it gets to the top of the screen it just goes west. Then when it gets to the left side of the screen, it just stops.

I also made sure there was no woman standing on my desk whose dress the cursor might be trying to look up.

Do you think the cursor might be trying to distance itself from me? I used deodorant this morning. [&:]

And if so, what does a Gorn do with its old skin ? Make shoes or a suitcase ?

One of the ways we reproduce is by molting. We just hang up the rubber suit in the closet and the next morning it's gone! We don't talk about that around children.

By the way, scout1. Seeing that you are from South Bend, I toured the Aker Plastics plant near there many moons ago and I must say, I was completely distracted by the women working in that factory. It was like the Barbie Doll factory was making Barbies. Not really, they were like what some would call "trailer trash" but they were smoking hot.

Try downloading the latest driver for that brand of mouse. The upgrade to Win10 may have made the old mouse driver incompatible in some way.
