while I wanted to use the IJAAF for something else than ground bombings after China fell there's a need for a couple of Helen units to resume with ground bombing... we attack a couple of motorized units that were moving South ahead of the fleeing Army from Darwin that have turned around again as the bulk of the Army is about to get surrounded by my fast tank divs followed by the infantry...

this is what we intended to do against the ongoing 4E strikes on our units South of Darwin... a heavy cruiser force plasters the airfield and kills over 70 enemy aircraft on the ground while leaving the rest damaged... this was the strike we needed, should give our ground units at least two weeks until the enemy can fly somewhat sized strikes again I guess... there is no railline connection from Darwin to Townsville so Mundy will have to repair the damaged aircraft at Normanton and to do this he will have to first repair the airbase so that might take a while...

the first of the three incoming units has to cross the river and shock attacks into our division which pretty much renders the Battalion useless... two more units will most likely cross the river tomorrow, we have already ordered our Inf div to deliberate attack and push them back across the river, then the IJAAF can do the rest... that tank unit shows a (-) for supply so the enemy can't even supply the units that aren't even cut off that far North from his next base it seems...

these are today's airlosses, while we kill 4 Lightnings on LRCAP we lose 1 Helen to them... additionally and as usual we lose another 4 Helen and a Jake to ops while flying nav search / ASW... totally silly how many losses we add up, it's like 100+ aircraft lost on ASW or nav search for 1 Allied sub sunk... we have already 3 times the ops losses in total than the Allied and they are flying 2000 sorties more each day, what a questionable design... the Jake is our leading aircraft in total losses...
