After a couple of minor setbacks, Lowpe is moving again around PNG.
I can't risk the assets to stop him and besides part of KB needs to refit.
I will see how far he pushes this time.

Allies get a little too bold around Ramree Island and the IJN finally decides to show up and do something

Nothing significant but amusing and enjoyable.

Been stalking this BB for a while as it does its usual bombardment runs on Port Moresby.
Got it but it will survive.

Still clearing out isolated strong points. The assault on Chungking nears closer.

Screwed here. Can't stop Lowpe from grabbing the dot bases and don't want to risk anything too valuable on a side show.

Better opportunities of stinging him reside here.
I suspect Lowpe might try and push through here. Pretty sure his CVs are in Brisbane stocking up on Hellcats.

Weekly update- start with my happy place; China
The Chinese Army verging on disintegration aside from those holed up in Chungking and Burma. Cut off remnants are being eliminated for points.
Once a couple more holding positions are established to block British and Indian forces, it will then be time to move on the final big prize.

Burma - I suspect Lowpe will be getting annoyed here after the last few turns.
A couple of Indian Brigades mauled (one cut off in Thailand) and the defence holding nicely.
Pretty happy here at the moment. The push into Thailand is more bluff than substance at this stage.

Darwin- no assault here from Lowpe which is puzzling
Running daily bombardments on his troops with minimum impact. Perhaps he is worried about the disruption his forces have suffered?????
Regardless, Darwin is still screwed.

The Allies most active theatre as they creep up the coastline of PNG.
Can't really stop him and Lowpe is only committing his non essential assets. I will only skirmish with some surface forces.

The danger- With Marcus in his possession the only logical place for Lowpe to head next is directly to the HI.
Why bother with the Bonins or worse still the Marianas which would only be a distraction.
Nope, there is only one place he is coming- directly to Japan (most likely Hokkaido first) via Pearl Harbour.

China 19 Apr 43
Units massing around Chungking for the final assault. Probably a week away to assemble all of the pieces including the 4 x Tank Divs.
Supply looks low in the city; no aa fire noted

Burma/ Thailand Lowpe has pushed through units with varying degrees of success.
Where I can, I attempt to isolate exposed units and give them a thrashing. An Indian Armored Brigade was dealt some nice blows in Thailand last turn but the key focal point is the Australian 7th Div at Toungoo without any support at all.
Not going to be easy but too good an opportunity to pass up.

Darwin- Lowpe still being uncharacteristically hesitant as he still masses forces. Every day allows me to fly out support troops and conduct the occasional naval bombardment with limited success.
Very happy that he is taking his time here.

PNG- still the main problem area.
Lowpe still leap frogging up the coast and I am not willing/ nor really able to offer sustained resistance. Happy for him to plunge further up the coastline before I attempt to cut it off again.

Game has been slow due to social/ work issues but is picking up again.
Only days away from the first assault on Chungking which will be incredibly bloody. All enabling operations have now been successfully completed and the final show can now start.

Thailand is getting slightly trickier as more Allied armour makes its way to the front. The veteran 38th Inf Div is on its way to slow the Brits/ Indians down.
Burma is fine. Operations to hurt the 7th Aus Inf division continues.
Overall, this theatre continues to go well for the IJA with significant casualties inflicted on isolated Indian Brigades.

Allies start to retake Ceylon which has long since been abandoned by the Empire.
Tempting to counter attack here but that would be fatal for me in the Pacific.
