Mrs. Chickenboy's B-day today. I got her "the new i-Pad" with a bunch of other goodies.

We're going to Cozumel for a week starting on Sunday to celebrate our 16th anniversary and both of our birthdays too.

Congrats on the anniversary of your marriage and entries into the world!

What is this thing you call 'vacation'?

"Vacation". Sure-here's what it is: sleeping in, snorkeling and scuba, lounging by the pool, getting drinks brought out to your chair on the beach, gawking at the iguanas and geckos, lovely sunsets, warm weather, sun tans and warm nights. [8D] [:'(]

We bought a new bed today and replaced the mattress of granite[X(][:D][8D]

The old mattress was as hard as a slab of granite[:D]

Sandstone is much better than granite. Enjoy.[:D]

Gawking at iguanas and geckos? That's what you tell the wife anyway.[;)]

In at the deep end old boy, as I arrived on my own my training etc has to fit around the other people who need training. Monday was arrive and find my way around, Tuesday was an intro to the BBMF, Wednesday was piston engine theory, Thursday was piston theory exam (95%, it would have been 100% but I changed an answer) and then out onto the hangar floor. The first aicraft I worked on in a month was the Lanc [8D]

So you would primarily service RR Merlin engines in Lancaster Spitfire and Hurricane?

Not exactly, it's mechanical work (basically everything except electrics and instruments) and flight servicings. Don't forget the Griffon engines and the mighty Gypsy Major. The actual job also involves a good chunk of PR type work. I keep trying to find excuses to check things in the Lanc cockpit [:D]

It's strange to think that 25 years ago I pointed to the Lancaster and told my parents I'd work on it one day!

She's not trying the 'breakfast in bed' option (using food you've paid for!) or other similar free aproaches? [:D]

RGR Martin!

BTW, post some nice cockpit pics (or full walk around <HINT!!!>) if you can (i.e. if it is not forbidden by the rules)! [:)]
