Here's how it went on the ground at Manila:

Image

You'll have to use Artillery and Aerial Bombardment quite a few more times to reduce their assault value to get at least to 2-1 odds.
Keep at them and your results will go up exponentially as their supply dwindles to zero ( if its not there already!!)

Don't assault them before then!![;)]

Thanks for posting your advice. I can use all the advice I can get. Um.....by "quite a few more times" I'm guessing maybe a couple of
weeks more? Maybe a month more? 2 : 1 odds is the cutoff then. Alrighty then........I'll do it. And your advice: don't assault them before
then.......I DID assault them too early and lost about 6K troops. I don't think I'll do that again real soon.

I have assigned my last remaining undamaged DMS ship to clear the minefield at Bataan. It should be clear in about a week I figure and
then I can start bombarding Manila with my BB's, or at least one BB, and then the Manila nightmare will be over with and I can concentrate
on Singapore and Java.

2-1 is the bare minimum....3-1 is better, but you probably can't afford the luxury of sitting too long, as those troops are needed elsewhere causing mischief.[:)]

There are quite a few more resources in Nauru and Ocean Island. I'll be making trips to these two sources for a long time and the best
part is both sources will keep producing them the rest of the game. All the naval bombardment of Cebu killed the resources center there
and it's now 0(20) and I'll have to repair it to get it up and flowing again but I think that's doable. I'm hoping I can capture the goodies
centers on Java w/o too much fuss and without all the damage incurred elsewhere.

Yeah, you're correct. I'm already dreading the situation in Singapore. I'm outnumbered there and if Jim really wanted to he could
probably take back Malaya but so far no actions like that have occured......maybe he's not interested in owning Malaya again.

Here's all the Tanker TF's that I have re-routed to Palembang. One is already there loading up on oil. The Computer label on the
bottom of the display isn't green because I'm turning off the computer controlled TF's so that they are skipped when I diagnose what
action I need to take on the TF's. I'm going through the list of TF's inspecting them one at a time and most of the time there's no change
indicated but sometimes the TF needs to be docked or re-directed somewhere else. It's a slow process but I don't want to skip anybody.

There were 2 AR ships at Wake and I thought it prudent to move one of them to Truk. That way they won't both be destroyed in one
attack and besides there are broken ships calling at Truk all the time and the AR might save a trip to a ship repair yard sometime.

TF 285 is the one I'm going to use to bombard Manila. The minefield at Bataan is already slated to be cleared and TF 285 is still three
days away from Manila so everything is going according to schedule. So far.

TF 327 is a group of AKE's that I'm going to park at Subic Bay to re-arm the Manila bombardment group when they finally arrive. And
so all the bombardment group will have to do is go around the corner to Bataan and bombard and they can be back in Subic Bay before
the sun comes up. And be ready again to do it again quickly. That's how I reduced Koepang in my game w/ Rob. It's working in
rehersal and I expect it to work here.

TF 335 is a group of carriers that weren't doing anything important so I thought I'd fuel them up with an AO ( check ) and push them
within air strike range of the commotion down near Espiritu Santo just to see if they can lend a hand.

Most of the oil coming out of Palembang is being shipped to Cam Ranh Bay as the first stop in the chain and it's starting to pile up there.
I may have to dedicate a trip of the long-distance TK's to start shipping from CRB to the home islands.

Okay......it's late on Friday and Jim and I have exchanged emails and I did the movie and here's some fresh combat results:

RO-66 gets a hit on an AK and sends it to Davey Jones' locker.
