Must be some sure-footed horses.
Actually, it's a man-created new creature breeded ( breeded ? ) from goats. Longhorn goats. They are as big as horses and the
Soviets don't know the difference. They call them "horses" but you and I know what they are.

There's been so much fighting for so long that the readiness of some of the units, I'm guessing, has been diluted by the number of
new recruits that have been pressed into duty in the units early in their training and therefore not the best of troops so that their
low numbers have caused the average value to sink into the 40's when usually units in general are usually in the 50's.

Something else I like to do is pound enemy positions w/ my arty. This result is typical of that kind of action.

Say larry do you have any games of WITP-AE going and posted on the Matrix site? I'd like to follow that also. Thanks

Yes, as a matter of fact I do. And as a game it's a learning experience. The scenario we're playing is RA 6.4 ( reluctant admiral 6.4 )
and John3rd is our Jap player. Jim Moore and I are the Allies and I'm still kinda new to WITP-AE and from what Jim Moore has said
I have reason to believe he is too, especially compared to John3rd, who is the designer of RA 6.4 and as far as I can tell is an expert
at WITP-AE and I'm learning all kinds of moves for the Jap side. It's amazing. Jim and I are getting our butts handed to us. You can
find the AAR here:

Hey, some lend lease Hurricanes showed up at the port at Archangel. They are 100% for supply and readiness but the proficiency
reflects the Soviet pilot. If I put these boys into combat like that they would get chewed up. I'm thinking I'll use these for static defense
somewhere in a quiet sector for a while.

I received new this turn a reconstructed BB that is missing 4 DD's from it's TF. I looked at the numbers and it seems that I have no more
DD's on hand and won't be making any until T200 and then only a few. I'm going to have to tag this TF to run in tandem w/ a TF that
has escort type ships in it. That might save it from aerial attack maybe.

Here's a look at the average Soviet fighter group now. It's proficiency is typically low in the 30's to high 40's at random. And the
readiness of the group is running between 40% and 60% somewhere. It it's low I rest them. If it's high I put them on two dot attacks.
So far the production pools are keeping up w/ losses as typically the group is missing only a few planes. Those squadrons that get
beat up in a furball and are missing lots of planes are flown to Moscow and rested until they fill out again. I'm parking my strategic
reserve at Moscow too. So Moscow is one stop shopping. Your mileage may vary.

So I got these moves from John about 1/2 hour ago and I watched ( in the replay ) all the air strikes in the world as his air force pounded
my bridges and airfields and sometimes actual units I own. Several combat rounds of it. It was terrific. I'm fighting to put an end to that
kind of thing w/ all the airfield strikes I'm making on HIS airfields. My production rate is going to help me win this fight.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I was going to speak to the lack of Yak-4's. There's only 3 in the pool and there's like 69 divided by 9 is about 7 or 8
squadrons of these things and This unit isn't going to get any for a long time because we're not making them any more. D'oh. But
about the SB-2's .........there's plenty in the pool. I just need to rest it up a little bit and let it fill out some. I'd probably be better off not
using this unit as AS but I wouldn't mind at all if it did CS or INT missions.

Here's a report about my fleet of IL-4's. I have about 700+ in the active fleet in some 9 squadrons and I'm producing them just about
as fast as I'm losing them on average. They are my longest range bomber and I've got them all on INT missions because they can
reach just about everywhere on the map. I've got only one squadron of IL-4's in reorg so far. Which is good for this formation.

I was checking out the production of the IL-4's and noticed some Lend Lease equipment in the inventory already. It's new to me so I
must have just gotten it recently. Some P-40's and early model Spitfire's and some Hurricanes and for CS there's some British
Lancaster's and the nimble Tempest. Nice. I'll put them to work ASAP. Too bad they have the proficiency of the Soviet pilot instead of
the pilots that brought them here. No wait, they probably got unloaded from an AVD from Portsmith. It's probably still parked at
Archangel still refueling and getting ready for the departure before the ice freezes in the winter.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I was going to comment about the building pools of B-17's and B-26's. No squadron to put them in yet I guess. Soon
I hope.

Here's a squadron I may have to station at Moscow permanently because of the relatively low proficiency. You'll notice that they are
parked at Bryansk, a relatively quiet sector as regards air-to-air contests. I'm hoping to be able to include them in the mega-strikes
I do on one particular airfield at a time to try to destroy the squadron itself. If there's no squadron John
can have planes in the pool and none in the field. That's the theory.
I'm guessing that this squadron got chewed up pretty badly in a furball and now there's all these new recruits that have to be trained and
given some experience in some "gentle" combat somewhere so they survive for the hard trials. I'm thinking it'll gain proficiency slowly
if I just park them in Moscow and rest them but probably too slowly to support combat needs. I'm guessing there's just no way around
the need for combat for experience and rest for readiness.

Here's how the entire force is doing and I must say, I think I've hit upon an interesting mix of missions. I'm not sure the mission is
matched to the task every time but I like the way it's set up now. Not too many planes in reorg either. Maybe I'm not driving them
hard enough.

Here's the mission's for the aircraft for the first combat round. I'm aiming for the Axis aircraft mostly. The air war just got hotter.

Here's the air display after all the air strikes. I'm losing more than he is but the point is to make a dent in the Axis air force. Can't do that
without breaking some eggs.

John landed some troops at a port on my southern flank. And he flew some planes down there and he's already started converting
my rail and busting bridges etc. D'oh.

Here's what it looks like after I had a chance to move. I sailed in a Division and landed at the port, fortunately w/ some MP's left to
attack the Brandenburgers at the airport and force them off the hex. I'm planning on having somebody occupy the airport next turn.
I think I may have trapped some Germans on Russian soil.

Thanks for the very detailed update on the air war and Soviet air force. Much appreciated.
I agree the thing to do is to be aggressive and wear down the Axis air force (in a skillful way).
