PNG- Lowpe continues to creep up the coastline which is a clever strategy.
He is risking very little in major assets as he leap frogs his way up. At this stage I am still content to watch until he over extends and then I will take a small bite. No carriers sighted which makes me very cautious.

Scoreboard
Pretty much expected in Apr 43 against a class Allied player.
Not too bad but not overly great either. Definitively need Chungking to maintain competitive into 44.

Industry is fine as well.
To really cause havoc, Lowpe will need to go deep and start bombing the Homelands which is probably on the cards. Until that day happens, the industry will still kick along nicely. Stockpiling quite a few engines as well

After a couple of weeks of fighting, the 7th Aussie got its comeuppance at Toungoo.
Burma/Thailand continue to go well for the IJA.

First assault on fortress Chungking.
Very bloody but necessary. Will bring in new units and go again in 10 days.
*At least the forts were reduced.

I vaguely remember thinking that I could hold out against you in Chungking and then when supplies ran out, the defense collapse very quickly. Good luck with your WW1 siege, sir!!
Note - should be able to buy out (PP) some shattered divisions on the cheap.

Thanks Mike, and great to hear from you. My hope is the same scenario will play out here once again, but it will be a tough slog.
Great minds think alike- just bought out one of the shattered divisions to head off to the Pacific.

Don't forget to use PP to get some of the larger artillery units. The Allies have poor artillery until mid-44.
I would ask how things are doing in Brisbane, but that would require a long side conversation.

Will do, pounding Chungking as we speak.
Happy to have it but in short all good Mike in Brisbane

Stopped him cold in Northern Thailand again.
I wonder if I could roll the Allies back over the Thai/ Burma border without over committing my limited forces- probably not.

China -May 11th 1943
Latest bombardment attack at Chungking. Just about to hit the magical 4000AV where I will try another deliberate attack. Air and arty continue to work over the mass of defenders crammed into the city.
Just over 2 weeks since the last DA reduced the fortifications to 5.

US Carriers starting to move.
I suspect to support operations on the PNG Coastline. Waiting and watching.

The results were pleasing. Will go again in about 2 weeks.
This baby is going to fall in a few months

Rushed this next attack at Chungking and got the result I probably deserved.
Will go again in another 2 weeks. Not dropping the forts on this attack was very annoying.

PNG- South Pacific
To slow Lowpe down a bit I have massed my surface fleets and continually feint at his main shipping lines.
I could easily engineer a major fleet collision with a number of his surface units including plenty of Fletchers and some fast BBs but naturally this would not go well for me. If I can get an opening on his amphib shipping I will go for it, but otherwise I will wait.
I strongly suspect both sides are upgrading their CV fleets.
